Sometimes the right career move isn't the fastest one. After almost ten years at Amazon, I decided to take a break to travel, which took me to some incredible places and gave me time to think carefully about what I wanted from my next role. It meant being patient and waiting for something that genuinely felt like the right fit. I started that new chapter as Director of Retail Media at B&Q yesterday. One thing that really stood out throughout the interview process was the people. Every conversation left me thinking I'd genuinely like to work with these people and that's not something I say lightly. After my first day, I'm happy to say that first impression was absolutely right. Everyone has been incredibly welcoming, generous with their time, and keen to help me settle in. I'm looking forward to getting to know the business, learning from the team, and helping grow B&Q's Retail Media proposition as part of the wider Kingfisher group. Here's to new colleagues, new challenges, and being back in London.
