The top 3 questions we should all be asking ourselves about tech, systems, and processes: 1. Does it solve an actual capability gap? That’s the difference between an exquisite solution that briefs well and something that actually matters. That’s the difference between a system that just adds another gate to go through and a system that enhances performance. 2. Does it work? One of the biggest complements you can get from a customer is “it just works.” No workarounds, turn it on and it works. Does it work in the dark, when I’m cold, through aircraft vibrations, and when I’m exhausted? It’s gotta be like the USPS: come rain or sleet or snow. 3. Is it intuitive? The complexity and speed of the battlefield and the business world increases daily. If it takes more time and attention to use the tool then it saves then it’s not worth it. If it takes my head out of the fight trying to use the system it’s too complex. If these are the three questions we are starting with, then we are headed in the right direction.
