A huge congratulations to our students Jasmine (BSc Actuarial Science) and Tani (BA History) for being shortlisted for targetjobs UK's Undergraduate of the Year Awards 2026! Jasmine, who was nominated for the Future Insurance Professional of the Year Award, had this to say about her experience: "Being nominated as a Future Insurance Professional finalist was such an honour, and I’m extremely grateful for the opportunity to meet other like‑minded undergraduates and industry professionals at the awards ceremony. Being at LSE has exposed me to such a wide range of perspectives and possibilities, and has allowed me to explore so many of my interests through academic and careers talks, group projects, competitions, and much more, which I’m incredibly grateful for. I find myself continuously learning new things, and I’m glad to be developing the curiosity and openness that have helped me get to this point." Tani, who was nominated for the Black Heritage Undergraduate of the Year Award, wanted to add: "Being selected as a finalist was honestly so unexpected. I applied last year and didn’t make it past the first stage, so to now be recognised as one of the top 10 finalists feels like a real full-circle moment. My time at LSE has definitely played a huge role in this achievement - through my experience as the 2024/25 LSESU African Caribbean Society Secretary, I’ve been able to develop my leadership skills and broaden my skillset. I’ve also had the opportunity to mentor Black-heritage students through being a Thrive Mentor, both of which were key parts of my application. Finally, being surrounded by such driven, high-achieving peers has truly expanded my mindset and given me the confidence to apply for opportunities like this award.
