If you are a curious PhD student passionate about solving challenging Operations Research (OR) and/or Machine Learning (ML) problems, we invite you to apply for a science internship with the Fulfillment Optimization team at Amazon in Bellevue-Seattle for summer 2025. Fulfillment Optimization (FO) is an organization within Amazon Supply Chain Optimization Tech (SCOT) owning a suite of supply chain products and services that forecast the need for transportation resources, optimize the network set-up/configuration, determine the operational capability (warehouse, fulfillment and transportation), map the inventory and transportation resource capacity/availability, and accordingly provide the best delivery promises to customers. Once the promises are made, we identify the cost optimal fulfillment plan and orchestrate the shipments making sure that the promises are met and customer experience is preserved. Our team is tackling some of the world's most cutting-edge and challenging optimization and scaling problems. During this three-month internship, PhD students will have the opportunity to collaborate with leading experts in solving one of these problems.
