Weight Watchers didn’t lose weight. They lost people. It started with a circle of chairs in Queens. People showing up for each other. Connection. Support. Structure. A place people felt they belonged. ⚖️ By the mid-2010s, things shifted. Attendance dropped. Competition grew. “Wellness.” Apps. Tracking. They gained efficiency. But lost the feeling. The human layer disappeared. So did their place in people’s lives. ⚖️ I see this in healthcare all the time. Great care isn’t the differentiator. Connection is. If people don’t feel something when they hear your name, you fade. Your brand isn’t what you say. It’s how you show up. That's what people remember. ⚖️ What’s helped you stick with a diet?
Efficiency is important but it's a commodity. And if your brand is a commodity they are only one efficiency metric away from obsolescence. A feeling is relationship. I understand you, I see you and I build for what you value. That's far harder to intrude upon. In healthcare, I help clients hear from their consumers - doctors and patients - to ensure that what they are building nurtures a relationship not turns it into a transaction
With weight loss we have now have entered the quick fix addiction environment. Losing weight is difficult. Keeping it off is more difficult. Same thing with substance abuse. Enter suboxone and other drugs to 'help'. Now we have GLP-1 drugs for weight loss. The issue is its a behavioral issue requiring support and behavioral changes. But turning to a chemical solution takes much less effort. Ultimately there are huge issues however our quick fix world only sees the immediate results. I lead downsizing clubs. They are free. Attendance is great at first and then it falls off. Same issue. There is no quick fix for clutter.
Malka Frankel 👨🏻🦳 👵🏻 for me and many others it’s The Fit Jew by Reuven Kigel. He’s got an amazing program with a WhatsApp chat for men while his daughter does the same for women. The best part about it, is that it all comes from chazal based on the mishne berurah….. He had tremendous siyata d’Shmaya to be able to put together with the nutrition….. If anyone would like more information, please DM.
I don't diet. I work out each evening and refuse to miss a work out. I also believe in reaching out, touching and making a strong connection. When you read or podcast with me, it is the real deal and you will not forget me so easily.
Running out of money. Can't eat much when you can't grocery shop. Lost 7 kilos within 2 months.
I actually suggest to my dance/fitness clients that they can track their calories & macros by writing down what they eat Malka Frankel 👨🏻🦳 👵🏻 .no weighing just using a tool like my fitness pal for example so they can see if they have eaten enough protein. Fiber etc. What they need to add or eat less of duri g their day.
I love this message.
My tips are: partner up with someone + make a chart and reward yourself
