Great Charles River Regional Chamber Spring Business Breakfast meeting today at the Sheraton Boston Needham. Thanks to Eastern Bank for hosting! The speakers were Jeff Taylor, Founder & CEO of Boomband; Alicia Kabir, Executive Director of Cradles to Crayons Marty Martinez, President & CEO of United Way of Massachusetts Bay; Larry Seamans, President & CEO of FamilyAid; and Ashley Stanley, Founder & CEO of Spoonfuls Takeaways: No surprise. Nonprofits are in dire shape. Many are dipping into endowments or other reserves. They are cutting back on whom they serve and how much they can serve, and some say this is worse than the Covid times. The models they have been using no longer work. It's time to figure out how to "do more with less."
