Moderated a dynamic conversation on New Technology, Change Management, and the Modern Healthcare Supply Chain. Nearly 200 attendees joined us as the panelists shared both the theory and practice of success. Three themes emerged: First, a clinically focused, high alignment supply chain is the rule not the exception. Second, physicians are a bidirectional partner in success. Third, the supplier/vendor community is a critical element in objectifying value through data. New thinking, consistent process, and a rigid adherence to safety and efficacy rounded out the discussion. My thanks to Florida AHRMM for the invite and HCA Healthcare for hosting us.

ACO leaders Dr Josephine Li and Tracy Tran attended the 2026 RWAV Conference this week, themed Beyond Boundaries and Building the Future of Rural Healthcare. The conference provided a valuable opportunity to reflect on how we can strengthen the way we walk alongside communities to support locally driven healthcare models. It also fostered meaningful discussions on leadership and workforce development, and served as an important platform to explore how healthcare services can be delivered in a sustainable and future-focused way.

Thank you to The Institute of Healthcare Executives and Suppliers, (IHES) for hosting another great meeting this week with plenty of discussion from healthcare leaders across the country. ERDMAN's panel discussion explored a structural shift underway in healthcare: the continued migration of care to ambulatory settings and the implications for hospital strategy, capital deployment, and long-term cost structure. As health systems expand outpatient access to remain competitive and meet consumer expectations, many organizations are also confronting a growing challenge — care delivery models are evolving faster than the hospital infrastructure can adapt. As part of the discussion, we introduced the concept of a Stranded Capital Index — a way to think about how much inpatient infrastructure, fixed cost, and capital investment may become misaligned as procedural and diagnostic care continues to move into lower-cost ambulatory environments. The goal is not simply to expand outpatient access, but to sequence ambulatory growth with thoughtful recalibration of the acute-care platform. Appreciate the candid perspectives from the panelists on how their organizations are navigating this transition. The conversation reinforced that ambulatory growth is not just a facilities trend — it represents a broader enterprise redesign challenge for health systems over the next decade.
This is one of our favorite places to be in March! Rustin Becker, Janet Lively McCauley, CPSM, and Jim Medendorp are again representing ERDMAN in San Antonio for the IHES March Meeting XLVII, March 4–6. Our team is looking forward to joining industry leaders and peers next week in a forum, purpose-built for meaningful dialogue with the leaders shaping the future of healthcare. IHES isn't a traditional conference but carefully curates the connections between decision-makers and fosters the exchange of transformative ideas. IHES isn't a traditional conference. It’s a proven platform where real conversations drive improvements in hospital systems, productivity, and the way healthcare is delivered. If you’re attending, let’s connect and explore how integrated strategy and delivery can drive measurable impact across your organization. #IHES #HealthcareLeadership #HealthSystems #HealthcareStrategy #CapitalPlanning #HealthcareDevelopment #ERDMAN

Last years was a blast, this years will be better. I really can't wait to talk to leaders from NHS on improvement and transformation. Transformation - this is the key word here, but it's often overused, misunderstood, and organisations struggle to implement transformation successfully, never mind accelerate it, govern it, and measure it. We're moving beyond fractured, siloed, and tactical point solutions that people think are "transformational". UiPath will demonstrate how fast, and impactful end-to-end transformation can be achieved, whilst maintaining governance, and total orchestration. Matt Hogarth Simon Perks Adam Nightingale
📍 The NHS Strategy Summit, etc.venues County Hall, 30th April '26 What happens when you fill a room of 300 NHS senior leaders, from across the Trust and ICB landscape, alongside the most innovative companies shaping today’s healthcare solutions, with direct on-stage input from NHS England? You create a space for insight, clear paths to improvement, and connection; a place where national strategy connects with front-line realities, and where the future of healthcare can shift from strategy into action. The Summit is intentionally not a large conference, but instead, a carefully curated room of the right people, having the right conversations, to drive strategy, transformation and delivery across the system.
