On Thursday night I was honoured and surprised to receive the Insider Media South West Dealmakers Lifetime Achievement Award. It’s been hugely enjoyable working in the South West and South Wales over the last 30 years and countless business contacts have become good friends. It’s an amazing region. I was able to win this because of the fantastic people I’ve had the pleasure of working with at 3i, Grant Thornton, LDC, BGF and Development Bank of Wales . I was so delighted to see the Dealmaking Community choose such a worthy champion from such an incredibly strong shortlist. Having first hand witnessed your career evolve during my time with Insider, I can honestly say that the room got it right! Your CV speaks for itself, but your legacy at BGF in particular will never be overlooked. The foundations you set in those early years have paved the way for building an incredible team who have invested in some incredible South West businesses, ultimately benefiting the wider South West economy as a whole.
