I almost didn't raise my hand. June 30th, Pride event at the Lyric Opera in downtown Chicago. Organizers needed volunteers to speak about the businesses they're building like my ClarityRx Advisory fractional Healthcare Governance work - in front of 200+ people. I was #10 of 30 on the list. I said yes anyway. Walking up, I was nervous. Anxious. The kind of nervous where you're rehearsing your first sentence on repeat. But I got up there, said what I came to say, and felt the room respond. I left with something I didn't expect: a renewed sense of commitment - not just to speaking up, but to showing up as myself, fully, in rooms that matter. That's the same instinct I bring to my work now, helping healthcare organizations build AI governance that doesn't just check boxes but actually earns trust. If there's one thing you've been putting off because it scares you - that's usually the sign to do it. Curious how others have pushed through that same kind of moment.
