As I step down as Chair of the Wales network board and pass over to the new chair Suzy Lloyd I wanted to give my heartfelt thanks to Robert Lloyd Griffiths OBE and Kathryn Nash for a fabulous 18 months. Learned lots and we’ve done lots. We definitely put the ‘W’ in #ICAEW. Wednesday was another cracker despite the heat! Can’t wait for the next chapter now. Diolch thank you also to my other half Rupert May-Hill , former district president himself, for his support during my term. It is appreciated. And for all of the Wales community out there - I really hope you can all be involved in the coming year, you won’t regret it. Definitely more than just the CPD, even though that alone is worth it!
What a fantastic evening at Hensol Castle last night for the 2026 ICAEW Wales Celebration of Membership event. Even on the hottest day of the year, it was wonderful to see so many members come together, including lots of new faces, to connect, share experiences and celebrate the strength of our professional community across Wales. A huge thank you to everyone who joined us, and to our Network Board volunteers for their continued support. We were delighted to share a welcome video from Alan Vallance our CEO, hear from Carol Warburton FCA BFP CMIIA, expertly interviewed by Robert Lloyd Griffiths OBE, who shared such valuable insight into her career path, and to welcome Suzy Lloyd as our incoming Chair. A special thank you also goes to Sarah Prescott, our outgoing Chair, for all her hard work and commitment throughout her tenure. Congratulations to our new members Nic Brown ACA , Vaughan Davies, Jingyi Xu, ACA Xu and Adetutu Shonibare ACA, BFP, MSc, BSc, and to Tom Rook, who was celebrating 10 years of ICAEW membership. Events like this are a brilliant reminder of the value of coming together, recognising member milestones and building lasting connections across the profession. Thank you again to everyone who helped make the evening such a success.
