According to a recent govt. data, Bharat now has over 2.12 lakh recognized startups. That’s a huge number when you think about how many people across the country are trying to build something of their own. Every startup represents someone who chose to take a risk, to build a product, solve a problem, and create something from scratch. At the same time, the data also mentions that thousands of startups have shut down over the years, showing the other side of entrepreneurship. But the fact that more and more people are choosing entrepreneurship says a lot about how the mindset in India is changing, and seeing the ecosystem grow at this scale is encouraging. India’s Startup Shift: 247VC’s Kruti Raiyani on Founder-Led Discipline & Deep Tech Rise In an exclusive interaction with Indian Startup Times, Sandhya Bharti speaks with Kruti Raiyani, Principal at 247VC, on how India’s startup ecosystem is evolving toward discipline, capital efficiency, and founder-first thinking. Raiyani highlights a clear shift from growth-at-all-costs to building sustainable, execution-focused companies. At the seed stage, she emphasizes that investors are backing founders with deep problem understanding, resilience, and the ability to iterate, rather than just strong ideas. She also points to the rising momentum in deep tech, enterprise tech, AI, and advanced manufacturing, where Indian startups are increasingly being built with global ambition from day one. With stronger technical founders emerging from institutions and global ecosystems, deep tech is now becoming a serious investment opportunity. From an investment lens, 247VC prioritizes founder obsession, early team strength, and clarity of execution. Beyond capital, the firm actively supports startups through hiring, GTM strategy, and customer access. Her advice to founders is straightforward: focus on solving real problems, engage deeply with customers, and don’t chase funding without alignment.
