My paper in collaboration with my advisor on a new variant of the Watchman Route Problem as well as the Traveling Salesperson Problem on Neighborhoods has been accepted for presentation at the European Symposium on Algorithms (ESA), a premier conference organized by the European Association for Theoretical Computer Science. In this paper, we considered the problem of navigating and exploring an environment for a robot equipped with a sensor capable of "seeing-through" some obstacles. We presented theoretical analysis of hardness and a framework for discretization and approximation. Many open questions remain in robotic navigation and path planning, but we are optimistic about the research directions this opens up.

Seventy years ago this week, Herbert Simon and Allen Newell, of the then-Carnegie Institute of Technology, and their RAND colleague Cliff Shaw, published Logic Theorist. Designed to perform automated reasoning, Logic Theorist solved 38 of the 52 theorems in the Principia Mathematica, and became acknowledged as the first-ever artificial intelligence program.

I am very happy to share that our latest paper, "Evidence Triangulation for Multimodal Fact-Checking in the Wild", has been accepted at the European Conference on Computer Vision (ECCV 2026)! 🥳 Authored by Stefanos Papadopoulos, Zacharias Chrysidis, Christos Koutlis, Symeon Papadopoulos from the Media Analysis, Verification and Retrieval (MeVer) Group, and Panagiotis Petrantonakis. In short, the paper presents: ▪️ X-POSE: A new dataset of real-world cases of multimodal misinformation, annotated through X’s Community Notes system and enriched with full-length articles retrieved through VLM-optimized search. ▪️ TRENT: A new lightweight detection architecture that performs evidence triangulation using three parallel cross-attention streams alongside a relational fusion mechanism that explicitly models entailment and contradiction.
