Don't Give Up

Last night, the Lionesses reminded us all of something important — even when things aren’t going your way, you don’t give up.

They dug deep. They regrouped. They found another gear, and they won.

And there’s a lesson in their win for every recruiter out there...

Last night wasn’t smooth sailing. The Lionesses had to dig deep, stay focused, and believe they could turn it around — sound familiar? Because let’s be honest… recruitment isn’t always sunshine and signed contracts: Your star candidate ghosts you after the final interview. Your client suddenly "puts the role on hold". You send 7 CVs, and the client decides to hire someone internally.

But like the Lionesses showed us: don’t throw in the towel.

Regroup. Refocus. And find that little bit of extra fight to push through — because sometimes, the win comes right at the last minute (usually at 5:29 pm on a Friday with a placement you’d written off two weeks ago).

Success in recruitment, just like football, is about resilience, teamwork, and never giving up — even when the ref clearly needs glasses and the candidate’s LinkedIn says “Open to Work” but they’re “not really looking”.
