Merry and Bright - Build, Learn, Grow

Merry and Bright - Build, Learn, Grow

I'm going to try something new with promoting this series. I'll add a brief Learn. Think. Act. to each video as we build up to Christmas.

You can find the playlists for all of the seasons below in order, and see the progression year after year. Camera presence, sound quality, editing - all have improved over the years. Check out the journey below.

Day 1 - Office Space

Learn

What can you takeaway from the Bobs, the Mondays, and Flare? Not all changes are made for the right reasons, some changes are necessary, and make sure the standard you set accomplishes what you want.

Think

Is there a change that you can make in your business, at home, or for yourself - that will significantly improve your effectiveness? What waste can you cut out? What standard can you put in place today, that when you meet it - you achieve your desired outcome?

Act

Eliminate 1 extra step in your daily workflow. Outsource it, fire it, or automate it.

Day 2 Tommy Boy

Learn

When you leverage story, learn from the work, and don't judge a book by it's cover - you can accelerate speed to impact. You can overcome the challenges in front of you.

Whether it's picking up a new skill, or transferring current skills - business and life require learning, putting the work into practice, and adjusting.

Think

How can you leverage story to improve engagement? How can you apply the lessons you've learned when trying to get something done in your personal life, to your business life?

Act

Identify one skill that you'd like to apply in your business this week. And, get out there and do it.

Day 3 - Jurassic Park

Learn

Taking risks and thinking differently are key to creating big, innovative ideas. Life doesn’t always follow your plan; you must be ready to adapt and evolve when challenges come up. Stay true to your goals and values, especially when relationships and money complicate things.

Think

How can you adapt your plans when unexpected challenges come up in your work or life? What helps you stay true to your values when pressures or opportunities shift your focus?

Act

Choose one current project and identify a risk you haven't fully prepared for. Write down the risks, prioritize your decision making criteria, and work through your process.

Not mentioned, but worth exploring…”and you want to be my latex salesperson?”

“What exactly is it you’d say you do around here?” The audacity of that question when the person who gets it is pulling their hair out because their task list is insurmountable. Love the message here of reducing and streamlining.
