After Sekhar’s father developed frontal lobe dementia, he realized that could be him one day, and he didn’t want his own care to be a future burden for his husband Jim. With help from ChatGPT and Codex, he and founding volunteer Katie Brandt built Foreguard— a free tool that helps families claim public benefits they’re already entitled to, and plan ahead with private insurance including life, disability, and long-term care coverage tailored to their family history. On the planning side, Foreguard shows how even modest budgets of $100 a month can create millions of dollars of day-one financial protection. For Sekhar the goal is simple: help families prepare earlier, with more clarity, before care decisions become urgent.

ChatGPT sites are a way to create and share a live website or lightweight app from Codex. You describe what you need, work with Codex to build it, then deploy a site that people in your workspace can open and use. A site can be useful when you have a piece of work that needs a place to live: a launch tracker, a dashboard for a weekly review, a calculator for exploring options, or an onboarding page for a new project. Corey Ching walks through how to build and deploy web apps with ChatGPT.

Before Patrick Cheng owned a restaurant, he learned the food business from the loading dock. Growing up in Chicago, his journey began in his family’s food distribution business. Starting as a warehouse picker and later becoming a delivery driver, he saw firsthand the challenges small businesses face with outdated technology and systems. After moving to Atlanta, Patrick acquired a struggling restaurant and began using ChatGPT to redesign menus, optimize pricing, create staff training materials, streamline catering operations, and improve marketing and customer communications. The result? More than 200% growth in sales, a tripling of the restaurant’s catering business, and more than 8,000 free meals provided to local nonprofits and community organizations. Now he’s turning that playbook outward with NextGen, a nonprofit dedicated to helping family-owned businesses modernize through AI adoption, technology education, and micro-grants.
