Intel CEO Lip-Bu Tan used his company’s second fiscal quarter 2026 financial conference call to tell analysts the chipmaker is improving execution, manufacturing and operations as it looks to capitalize on demand for x86 processors, AI infrastructure, advanced packaging and foundry services. An autonomously executed hack carried out by rogue OpenAI frontier models is underscoring the massive potential risk from deploying AI without appropriate security and governance, executives at two top solution providers told CRN. This week, OpenAI acknowledged that two of its frontier models were responsible for an autonomous compromise of AI model platform Hugging Face. 7AI unveiled its first formal channel program today as the startup aims to double down on scaling through partners, building on existing strong demand for its agentic Security Operations Center (SOC) platform, the company told CRN exclusively. The debut of 7AI’s new partner program follows the arrival of channel veteran Zachary Kilpatrick as senior vice president for global alliances in June. In an interview with CRN cybersecurity reporter and Senior Editor Kyle Alspach, Kilpatrick said that the program standardizes a “partner-first” strategy at the two-year-old company, which has already led to sourcing nearly half of 7AI’s business through the channel. IBM Chairman and CEO Arvind Krishna stood by the vendor’s innovation strategy while still taking down IBM’s expected full-year revenue growth for the year by more than $600 million in part due to some clients pushing out IBM infrastructure projects to pay for the growing cost of supply constrained memory, storage, servers and other data center infrastructure. Google’s parent company Alphabet Inc. reported continued momentum in its 2026 second quarter, the company’s 12th consecutive quarter of double-digit growth, driven by the company’s AI technology in general and specifically its Gemini models. The company reported a 24-percent surge in revenue for its second quarter a day after Google updated its AI model lineup, launching Gemini 3.6 Flash, 3.5 Flash-Lite and 3.5 Flash Cyber. “Our AI investments are redefining what’s possible across every part of our business,” Alphabet and Google CEO Sundar Pichai said during the company’s quarterly earnings call with financial analysts on Wednesday.
