AI for marketing: from hype to how I’ve witnessed firsthand how AI has transformed from a futuristic buzzword to an essential tool in our daily marketing efforts. Early on, AI seemed like an exciting possibility, but now, it’s a game-changer. 1. Personalization at Scale: A Dream Come True Personalization used to be a challenge. We tried to manually segment customers, but it was time-consuming and often inaccurate. Then we integrated AI tools like Segment and Dynamic Yield, which analyze customer data in real time, enabling us to deliver personalized experiences automatically. These tools track behavior, preferences, and interactions, helping us target the right customers with the right message, whether through email campaigns or product recommendations. Thanks to AI, we can now personalize at scale, delivering relevant content to each customer without the manual effort. The result? Increased engagement and higher conversions, all while saving time. 2. Content Overload, Solved The demand for fresh content was overwhelming, and keeping up while maintaining quality was difficult. Enter AI tools like Jasper and Copy.ai. These platforms use AI to generate blog posts, social media content, and email copy. They can create content drafts based on simple prompts, significantly speeding up the creation process. AI also helps us optimize content. Tools like Headline Analyzer and Convert.com assist with A/B testing, ensuring we’re using the best headlines, calls to action, and tone. This allows us to produce more content faster, without sacrificing quality, and improve its effectiveness over time. 3. Smarter Decisions with Predictive Analytics In the past, we’d react to past campaigns, but with AI-powered predictive analytics tools like HubSpot and Pardot, we now predict future customer behavior. These tools analyze past data to forecast which leads are likely to convert, enabling us to focus our efforts on the most promising opportunities. AI provides us with actionable insights that help us prioritize leads, tailor messaging, and increase conversions. It’s like having a roadmap for what’s coming next, allowing us to make smarter decisions and improve our marketing ROI. 4. Real-Time Customer Insights – No More Waiting Traditionally, gathering insights involved waiting for surveys or reports to come in. Now, with Google Analytics 4 and Crimson Hexagon, AI tracks customer behavior in real time, providing immediate feedback on how campaigns are performing. These tools help us monitor customer sentiment, identify trends, and adapt campaigns quickly. Real-time data allows us to be agile and responsive, adjusting our strategies as needed to meet customer expectations and improve satisfaction.

AI platforms like ChatGPT and Perplexity could become major advertising destinations by 2026, potentially growing faster than social networks did. That prediction comes from Debra Aho Williamson, the analyst who published one of the earliest forecasts on social media advertising back in 2007. At the time, social ads felt experimental and easy to dismiss. We all know how that turned out. What makes this prediction interesting is that it’s already starting to happen. • Google is actively testing ads inside AI-powered search results. • OpenAI has begun experimenting with ad-related features in ChatGPT, with signals pointing toward native, search-like ad formats rather than traditional banners. Social networks monetize attention. AI platforms monetize intent. When someone opens Instagram or TikTok, they’re browsing. When someone opens ChatGPT or Perplexity, they’re trying to decide, compare, learn, or act. Which also means ads in AI won’t look like what we’re used to. They’ll show up as: • recommendations inside answers • brand mentions during comparisons • suggestions at the exact moment of decision So how should brands prepare? Be genuinely useful: AI surfaces reward clarity, accuracy, and helpfulness, not slogans. Get your information in order: Brands with clean data, documentation, FAQs, and clear positioning will surface better in AI-driven answers. Think intent-first, not reach-first: This is closer to search than social. Relevance beats impressions. Protect trust at all costs: In AI interfaces, misleading ads won’t just be ignored, they’ll be rejected. If this plays out the way search and social did, the biggest winners won’t be the loudest advertisers. They’ll be the most helpful ones.

I used to think social selling was just LinkedIn spam until I saw what a consistent effort did for my business and personal life. For years, I dismissed it as automated connection requests and generic pitches. Then I started doing it differently. Here's what changed everything: I used AI to identify which healthcare executives were actively discussing the challenges my solutions solved. Not random prospecting. Strategic listening. Instead of pitching, I shared insights. When a Medical Director posted about operational efficiency or tough to treat patients, I'd comment with relevant data AI had surfaced on studies and therapies that may help. AI helped me personalize at scale. I could engage meaningfully with fifty executives daily while maintaining authenticity. The results: My inbound meeting requests tripled. My personal brand exploded. Industry leaders started reaching out to me. But the real transformation was becoming a trusted voice in healthcare innovation rather than just another vendor. Social selling with AI isn't about automation. It's about amplifying authentic relationship building with intelligence. AI finds the right conversations. You bring the human insight that matters. The healthcare industry still runs on relationships. AI just helps you build better ones, faster. What's your take? Are you using AI to enhance your social selling, or still doing everything manually? #contentcribrx #contentcrib

🚨 Would you trust Siri to pick your next lawyer? 🚨 Sounds ridiculous, right? But here’s the thing—AI search and voice assistants are slowly reshaping digital marketing. Search results now look more like social media feeds—blending AI-generated answers, Reddit threads, and TikTok videos. Meanwhile, tools like ChatGPT and Perplexity are already recommending businesses based on their AI training. For local businesses, this requires recalibration of the marketing focus. It’s no longer just about ranking on Google—it’s about being discoverable across AI search, social platforms, and voice assistants. Recently, Neil Patel and Eric Siu ✓ sat down to discuss the future of SEO and digital marketing. Their insights? 🔥 Here’s what’s changing (and what businesses need to do next): 📌 𝟭. 𝗦𝗘𝗢 𝗶𝘀 𝗻𝗼𝘄 "𝗦𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵 𝗘𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗢𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗶𝘇𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻." ✅ People search on TikTok, YouTube, ChatGPT, and Perplexity just as much as Google. ✅ Ranking on Google alone isn’t enough—visibility across multiple platforms is key. ✅ 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗱𝗼: Optimize short-form video, AI search, and social platforms. 📌 𝟮. 𝗩𝗼𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝘀𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵 & 𝗔𝗜 𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘀𝗹𝗼𝘄𝗹𝘆 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗵𝗮𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗹𝗼𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝘀𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵. ✅ Younger users trust AI assistants to make decisions—asking where to eat, shop, and hire services. ✅ What to do: Optimize for voice queries with structured data and conversational content (e.g., "Best injury lawyer near me open now"). 📌 𝟯. 𝗦𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘀 𝗻𝗼𝘄 𝗹𝗼𝗼𝗸 𝗹𝗶𝗸𝗲 𝘀𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗺𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗮 𝗳𝗲𝗲𝗱𝘀. ✅ Google and AI search prioritize real-time content, discussions, and UGC (Reddit, Quora, reviews). ✅ 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗱𝗼: Encourage customer reviews, active discussions, and user-generated content. 📌 𝟰. 𝗔𝗜 𝘀𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵 𝗶𝘀 𝗮𝗹𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗱𝘆 𝗱𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗹 𝗯𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗱𝘀. ✅ Businesses are appearing in ChatGPT and Perplexity results—bringing in customers from AI-driven recommendations. ✅ 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗱𝗼: Ensure business profiles, reviews, and structured content are optimized for AI search. 📌 𝟱. 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗶𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗻𝗲𝘄 𝗦𝗘𝗢. ✅ AI-generated content is everywhere—but search engines prioritize real engagement and niche communities. ✅ 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗱𝗼: Build an engaged audience, spark conversations, and position your brand as an industry leader. 📌 𝟲. 𝗗𝗶𝗴𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗣𝗥 & 𝗩𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗼 𝗦𝗘𝗢 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗻𝗼𝘄 𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗮𝗹. ✅ High-authority media placements and brand mentions boost SEO credibility. ✅ Video content (TikTok, YouTube) is dominating search results. ✅ 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗱𝗼: Focus on digital PR and optimize video content for search. 🚀 The takeaway? SEO is expanding beyond Google. 🎯 Goal for 2025: understanding the new landscape and implementing ROI driving strategies across the expanded list of mediums (aka figuring out "The Search Everywhere Optimization"). 💬 Have you noticed this shift in how people search? We’ve spent years optimizing for algorithms, but what happens when the algorithms start optimizing us? AI is changing how content is discovered. Both social media and search algorithms are shifting to favor AI-curated content over traditional engagement-based discovery. TikTok and Google are among the platforms experimenting with AI-generated answers and content recommendations. (LinkedIn tried. 😅) 👉 This shift means brands need to rethink how they optimize for visibility. Beyond keywords and consistency, modern content strategies are now factoring in context, intent, dynamic adaptation, and increasingly, personalization. – What is the narrative we’re trying to tell? – How do we align our brand’s voice with these evolving platform behaviors? – With infinite AI-driven content spamming users' feeds, what makes your message stand out? The answers aren’t straightforward, but that’s the point. Rapid technological advances mean two things: 1) The brands that thrive will be the ones willing to experiment, question assumptions, and craft their own unique strategies. 2) Creativity and relevant, niche storytelling will be more important than ever to stand out...not just from your competitors, but from every other brand in your audience's feed. And here’s the uncomfortable truth: AI doesn’t care about your brand. It doesn’t care how long you’ve been in the industry, how many awards you’ve won, or how much effort you put into your content. It optimizes for engagement, prediction, and patterns—not for meaning, originality, or impact. That means the real challenge isn’t just standing out. It’s proving that your voice deserves to be heard. Because in a world where AI-generated content floods every platform, the most powerful differentiator isn’t speed, volume, or optimization. It’s having something worth saying. 🙏

AI is creating new challenges for marketers but IMHO the biggest opportunity in years to differentiate. AI overviews are intercepting clicks. LLMs are answering questions before customers ever reach your site. And Google’s AI mode is just getting started. This is the biggest shift we've seen in marketing in 20 years. So, how should marketers respond? Here are 3 things to know about marketing beyond search: High-quality content matters more than ever. Traffic is down — but your customers are still around. They’re just somewhere else. And you still need high-quality content to pull them in – the more specific, the better. It will help you show up in AI Overviews but also LLM chats, social and communities. You need to scale across every channel. Your audience is on YouTube, TikTok, LinkedIn, podcasts. (Sometimes all at once if my kids are anything to go by 🙃) Before, you needed big teams and budgets to be everywhere. Now? AI lets you repurpose your best ideas into video, audio, and social — fast. Fewer clicks. Way more reach. AI can match content to intent to drive up conversion. AI doesn’t just create content — it reads the intent signal. It knows what your buyer needs right now, and serves the most relevant message, in the right channel, at the perfect time. That’s personal. And it drives results. For 20 years, traffic volume was the north star. Now that it's declining, it's tempting to think AI makes marketing harder. But what AI really does is create new opportunities for marketers. New places to be found. New ways to reach more people. New opportunities to connect with customers. Honestly? I’ve never been more excited to help our customers navigate what’s next. #Marketing #AI #LLM #Search #HubSpot #DigitalMarketing

AI is going to saturate all digital marketing channels - quickly. Here's what the marketers who continue to thrive will do better. 1. SEO/Content Saturation - AI search means less organic traffic from Google. Every company will publish more content using AI. The best marketers will do things better. - They'll optimize their content process with AI, using it for research, first drafts, and iterations. - With the time saved, they'll invest in what makes their content special/different: examples, mini case studies, unique data, personality, point of view, and multi-media. 2. Paid Saturation - Less organic traffic because of AI means more competition for paid. The best marketers will do things better. - They'll use AI to do creative testing at scale. AI can work from templates to create infinite text, video, and image ad variations. - They'll partner with creators to do co-paid campaigns, reaching new audiences in creative ways. 3. Email Saturation - AI is helping companies to put personalized email on auto-pilot. Open and click-through rates are declining. The best marketers will do things better. - They'll use AI to create style guides for email. They'll look at email performance by what writing styles drive the most opens and clicks. - They'll find unique data sources so their emails don't sound the same as everyone else. As AI saturates email, unique data is like gold. 4. Social - AI saturates traditional brand channels; people want to follow authentic people rather than brands. The best marketers will do things better. - They won't use social media to promote content; they'll instead build a real audience on platforms relevant to their audience. - They'll use AI to reverse engineer what writing styles and post formats work for each social platform, turning those learnings into templates they can quickly test and iterate rapidly to find what works for them. - They'll develop TASTE. None of the above works unless you can figure out what resonates with your audience. You need to have personality, a point of view, and something to say. AI will make a lot of the digital marketing we do today harder. As a marketer, opportunities always exist if you invest in your craft and continue to DO BETTER.

What Will AI Bring to Marketing in 2026 and Beyond? A few years ago, most customer journeys started with a Google search. That behaviour is changing. Today, many users ask ChatGPT, read AI summaries on Google, browse Reddit threads or scroll TikTok before they visit a website. In many cases, they get their answers directly from AI-generated overviews without clicking through. For marketers, this shifts a fundamental assumption. Ranking on page one is no longer enough. If AI systems summarise, compare and recommend brands before a user visits your site, then visibility inside those systems becomes critical. What this means in practice: - Discovery is happening inside AI interfaces - Authority signals matter more than isolated blog posts - Educational video content is increasingly surfaced in AI responses - Natural, conversational content performs better than keyword-heavy copy Your website still matters. But it is increasingly where transactions are completed, not where discovery begins. So what should brands do now? 1) Audit your AI presence Search for your brand in ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google AI overviews. Observe how you are described. 2) Strengthen authority Develop consistent, credible content that demonstrates expertise in a focused area. 3) Invest in useful video Clear, practical insights build signals that extend beyond your own website. 4) Write for real questions Align your content with how customers actually ask and speak. AI will not replace marketing. It will reshape how and where influence happens. Brands that adapt early will remain visible in the moments that matter. ⭐ Co-created with Gladys Ng, Top 20 Creator in Marketing and Sales on LinkedIn Singapore. Source: Wagada Digital UK

AI isn’t just a buzzword; it’s the engine that’s driving the next wave of marketing innovation. In today’s fast-paced digital world, AI is transforming the way we approach marketing, and Google's 'AI for Marketing Engine' (1) framework is at the forefront of this change. Let’s break it down: 1. 𝐌𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐮𝐫𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 & 𝐈𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐬 AI doesn’t just collect data; it makes sense of it. Take L'Oréal, for example—they used AI to analyse millions of customer interactions, resulting in an increase in ad recall (2). This kind of real-time, data-driven insight allows marketers to pivot and optimise strategies on the fly. 2. 𝐌𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐚 & 𝐏𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 AI tailors media buying and personalisation at scale. Spotify is a perfect example, using AI to create hyper-personalised experiences like Discover Weekly, which led to users streaming more than twice as long (3). The lesson here? AI ensures that you engage the right person at the right time, every time. 3. 𝐂𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 & 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐭 AI isn’t just about crunching numbers—it’s a creative partner too. Unilever leveraged AI to optimise their product design process, accelerating development while aligning with their sustainability goals (4). AI enhances creativity, helping brands produce content that truly resonates. AI isn’t the future of marketing; it’s the now. Ready to transform your marketing engine?
