Infosys, an emblem of the global economy and India’s rise within, operates in 46 countries. Here are a few key initiatives among many - 1. Give employees with COVID time off Infosys provides 21 days of additional paid leave for employees who have contracted or are recovering from COVID. 2. Take care of employees’ families, too Infosys had set up COVID care centers in offices in Pune and Bangalore, and more were on the way; some campuses also have set up vaccination centers. Notably, they are not just for workers but their families too. 3. Make vaccines free and accessible Infosys will cover the cost of vaccines for employees. 4. Acknowledge trauma Infosys has rolled out a series of initiatives over the past year related to mental health, self-care, women’s health, and work/life balance. Adding a different lens from many Explore phase discussion where the real trade-offs start to surface.
“Do we really need this?” is the right question, but not always easy to answer when requirements are tied to compliance, legacy dependencies, or critical business nuances.
Also, CDS, Fiori, and APIs don’t always replace custom logic 1:1, often the complexity just shifts layers.
Clean core is the direction but aligning it with business reality early on is where the real challenge lies.
