Sweden’s Sivers Semiconductors has partnered with Tachyon Networks to supply $3 million worth of 28 GHz mmWave antenna modules for Tachyon’s next-generation fixed wireless access (FWA) platform. The modules integrate Sivers’ TRB02801 28 GHz beamforming RFIC, covering 24.25–29.5 GHz and targeting multi‑gigabit PTP/PMP FWA deployments in urban, suburban, and enterprise environments. For Sivers, the order underlines its positioning in FWA as a volume RFIC and antenna‑module supplier, adding visibility to its 28 GHz product line and mmWave roadmap.​ For the broader market, it is another data point that 28 GHz mmWave FWA remains commercially relevant as a complement to fiber, enabling fast, scalable last‑mile and enterprise access where fiber build‑outs are slow or uneconomic. Europe is at an inflection point. After spending this week at #Semicon Europe, as well as the Pava Partners x Yole Group Deep Dive, BLUMORPHO’s gathering, and imec’s ITF, I came home with one clear conviction: Europe must reclaim its leadership in semiconductors. We can do it. We have the ingredients: world-class machine builders, specialty fabs, deep supply chains, top engineering universities, and a new generation of founders thinking boldly. But I also see the gap. We are still missing true scale, especially when it comes to growth financing. Without pension-fund-backed VC power like in the US or Asia, too many European innovations grow up elsewhere. China is watching! And yet, the timing couldn’t be more critical. The industry is changing at a pace I have never seen. Future chips will require new approaches to compute density, thermal management, and architecture. Optical fabrics will be essential. And as AI models evolve in weeks while hardware takes years, the tension between digital and physical innovation is becoming real, something Luc Van den hove illustrated very clearly at imec’s "Chip into the Future" event. This is one reason why, at Scrona Ltd., we believe so deeply in the role of digital manufacturing. Our inklogic platform enables new 3D packaging approaches, flexible architectures, and forms the natural touchpoint for AI-driven, hyper-automated production, especially in flexible, local supply chains. It’s a way to help Europe innovate faster and build smarter. A highlight for me this week was Anders Indset’s keynote, positive, forward-looking, and challenging. His message resonated: progress and responsibility must go hand in hand. Europe has the talent and the momentum; now we need the courage to scale. The industry must lead the way forward, think big and bold, and not wait for politicians to prepare the way: they will eventually follow! Semicon Europe was also simply a great opportunity to reconnect with partners, meet old friends, and feel the excitement around the Scrona-powered tool at Notion Systems’s booth and the samples at Taiyo Holdings Co Ltd . And because the event was so close to our Zurich office, our team could join and get firsthand exposure to the pulse of the industry. Thank you Jason Rouse, PhD, MBA, Lina März, Philipp Schlüter and all the others that made it such a fantastic week. The future of chips is being rewritten. And I believe Europe has everything it needs to be at the center of that story.
