Three months into my role as CEO of imec, and with the summer break providing a moment to pause and reflect, I find myself looking back on the many conversations, visits and experiences that have shaped these first months. One thing stands out above all: the incredible people behind imec. From breakfast sessions where colleagues from across imec shared their work and passion, to visits to our labs, embedded research groups and innovation sites in Leuven, Ghent, Antwerp and Eindhoven, I have had the privilege of discovering the incredible breadth of expertise within our organization. I stepped into our cleanroom for a full fab shift and met with teams working on groundbreaking innovations across many domains. What impressed me most was not only the technology, but the people behind it. The curiosity, dedication and openness with which colleagues shared their ideas, challenges and ambitions gave me a much deeper understanding of what makes imec unique. These first months have reinforced my belief that imec's greatest strength is its community. Thank you to everyone who welcomed me, took the time to explain your work, and gave me a glimpse into your world. I'm looking forward to many more conversations in the months ahead. And for those taking some time off this summer, I wish you a wonderful summer and some time to recharge.

It's fantastic when the CEO takes the time to spend several hours with small groups of employees (without all the management layers) to directly take the pulse of the business. Members of my team who had the opportunity hugely appreciated it and enjoyed getting to know Patrick directly, through interesting conversations on topics we're passionate about.
