Leah Skerry reacted on thisLeah Skerry reacted on thisLast week we were in Vancouver the entire week talking to investors, visiting longevity clinics and meeting collaborators! The Web Summit was possible one of the best conferences we attended this year! We came home with lots to follow ups to do and a bunch of meetings already scheduled! We presented at a booth and we did not stop all day with so many people coming! The West Coast really values the longevity and muscle health space opening up many opportunities for our technology! Investors from many places came to talk to us and shared their interest in investing! We also met other startups in Canada which will allow for collaboration and mutual growth! Finally, we got two hours to explore Capilano Park and it was a reward for the 4 hard working days! Here is how all started: Three years ago my friends and I decided to row a half marathon! We rowed for several hours while watching the Fantom of the Opera! I had the best time doing two of my fav things, exercise and seeing Art! My friend, Catherine, who is a CrossFit coach and a singer, had the idea to make this an annual event! So every January we row a marathon while she sings (and row 😳)! It all started with 4 people and it became an big event (see pictures throughout the years). Since last year, she added a fundraising campaign to the rowing Marathon and everyone who signs up to row with us can donate money to the “Out of the Cold” charity! This year Myomar will be selling our tests at the event for half price and 100% of the profits will go to the homeless cause! If you are in Halifax come to the event and contribute to help the homeless (details on the comments)! This is a cause that deeply touches me since I am a little girl and watched many homeless children in my country on the streets! I cant imagine not having a home in this cold weather! ♥️♥️ Spread the word ⭐️

Leah Skerry reacted on thisJust recently I bought my first real puzzle and I thought I could finish it in a day…it took me 10 days to finish and the engagement of the whole family and any visitors who came over haha! It has 1000 pieces! I was obsessed with it and felt so good to finish it! It was definitely worth to focus, think and take the time to finish it! As a scientist I always thought about my science projects as puzzles that would take years to complete, and I was fine with it but as an entrepreneur, I am always pushing myself to figure everything out quickly. The congress only happens every 4 years and this year will be in Tokyo! This will be the first time we present our scientific findings and our clinical studies data! Our manuscript is also conditionally accepted and under peer-review in a prestigious scientific journal! I am incredibly proud to contribute to the field of muscle atrophy and sarcopenia through the groundbreaking discoveries that led to the development of our technology. Since November 2024, Myomar's test has been commercially available, empowering over 100 individuals to improve their muscle health and achieve a healthier lifestyle. Looking back at 2025.. This was the year when Human Feedback Foundation doubled-down on AI/ML builders community. Thank you to 3,800 (!!!) of you for showing up to our AI Tinkerers events! 🇨🇦 We built Canada's largest community of AI/ML builders and entrepreneurs with AI Tinkerers, supported by friends at Google Cloud, Shopify, Intel Corporation, NEXT Canada, Mozilla, Two Small Fish, TribalScale, Auth0, ada CX, Weights & Biases (now with CoreWeave), and Simplii Financial. 🚀 I feel it was in 2025 that the community really took off. We've grown from 0 to 1,000+ AI/ML builders and entrepreneurs in 2024, and I thought that was amazing growth in just one year. Fast forward to 2025, we're now 3,800 AI/ML builders! So much good organic growth. Massive thank you for showing up, demo submissions, and hitting it out of the park with new event formats: Hackathon with Google; Technical workshops on AI evals with Weights & Biases; and VIP dinner with Two Small Fish. We'll do more of such experiments in 2026 for sure! Why do we do so much community building, being a nonprofit? We believe in tight feedback loops between engineers shaping AI systems and many of ethical principles and questions that must constantly evolve and be grounded in real-world deployment to make sense. We love to stay with that tension. Sometimes, we'll ask questions about privacy; AI evals; human-AI teaming. Other times, we'll see amazing demos relevant to this work and amplify. Overall, it feels we sit closer to understanding of how -- and I mean that very specifically -- AI can become more human-centered and useful, not just in theory, but in practice where it matters most: In applications, products, at deployment.. embedded in our human collective. Whatever we do with human-centered, ethical, safe, and responsible AI, we've got to build it together with engineers in the room and at decision-making tables.. bring the arts and the sciences closer, and remember we’re humans building with and for other humans.

Kitchener-Waterloo is Canada’s best kept secret. And like all good secrets, it only stays quiet until the results become undeniable. While everyone debates the next hot city, Kitchener and Waterloo have been busy doing something far less glamorous and far more powerful: building. This region produces an absurd concentration of engineers, builders, and problem solvers. Not theory merchants. Not pitch deck professionals. People who ship. A big reason is the gravity of University of Waterloo and its co-op system. Students graduate having already deployed real systems into the wild. That changes how companies are born. What makes Kitchener-Waterloo special isn’t hype. It’s the feedback loop. Research turns into startups. Startups turn into exits. Exits recycle capital and experience back into new experiments. No noise. No cosplay. Just compounding. This is also one of the few ecosystems comfortable with unsexy but critical work: AI infrastructure, fintech plumbing, cryptography, automation, protocols. The rails of the future, not the billboards. Lower burn rates than Toronto. Close enough to New York capital to matter. Far enough from the spotlight to think clearly. History has a pattern here. Silicon Valley was orchards before it was mythology. The places that win big usually look boring right before they explode. Kitchener-Waterloo isn’t trying to be loud. It’s storing energy.
