The European Union🇪🇺 extends its sincere condolences to the Government and people of Ghana, and to the family of the late Former First Lady, Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings, on her passing. Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings was a passionate advocate for women’s empowerment, social justice, and national development. She was recognised both in Ghana, and internationally, for her dedication in advancing gender equality and promoting the welfare of vulnerable communities. As Ghana mourns her loss, the European Union honors her legacy of service, courage, and commitment to progress. Our thoughts are with her family, friends, and all Ghanaians during this period of national reflection and remembrance. May she rest in peace.

I’ve seen them, Faces cracked by days that have stretched too long Names swallowed by cold concrete walls. Hands shaking, not from cold, But from waiting… You say, Let them die! But I’ve stood at the edge Of this man-made abyss, Where life is reduced to ink on a page, Where bodies hang or burn inside-out, Devoured by silent chemicals. There is no justice here. Just numbers carved on the faces of those we call poor, On skin too dark, On voices too quiet to be heard, Where decisions are whispered, Signed into deathly actions. Do you know what it feels like, to be buried before you’re dead?
