London remains a pivotal center of excellence and technology-forward innovation. Thrilled to see Microsoft's continued investment in the U.K. with the new AI Hub. While equality in Ireland has come a long way, we still have a way to go to achieve a world with greater fairness, inclusion and diversity. Today I celebrate the progress we have made, and for the super opportunities that I have had, as a woman, which are far greater than the generations before me. This year we expanded our mandate across all of EMEA, welcomed incredibly talented people into the business, and built an organisation while continuing to deliver results. It wasn't always straightforward, but this team kept moving forward. The final numbers are still being calculated, but one thing is already clear to me. Our biggest achievement wasn't just what we delivered. It was the team we built along the way. Just one year ago, we stood in this very space with architectural drawings and a vision. It was little more than an empty shell. We asked a group of exceptional Consultants to believe in a different future for specialist healthcare in Ireland and to invest not only financially, but with their expertise, their reputation, and their commitment to building something extraordinary together. To welcome those same physician investors back this evening and show them a completed Surgical Institute Dublin, just days before opening our doors, was incredibly rewarding. Surgical Institute Dublin represents a genuinely new model for Irish healthcare. By bringing together many of Dublin’s leading Dermatologists, Plastic Surgeons, Mohs Surgeons, Oculoplastic Surgeons, Dermatopathologists, and Medical Oncologists within a Consultant led partnership, we have created a centre designed around collaboration, innovation, and the highest standards of patient care. Our ambition extends far beyond delivering outstanding clinical care. Surgical Institute Dublin will become a recognised Centre of Excellence for advanced dermatological surgery in Europe, a leader in clinical and translational research, and a place where multidisciplinary expertise continues to advance the field for the benefit of patients across Ireland. To every Consultant who believed in this vision from the beginning, thank you. To Rachael Sheeran for being such an amazing COO, meticulous in every detail, our super Director of Nursing Lorna Fahy and our great CFO Dan Hall. A big thank you to the fit-out team for creating such a beautiful space: JSD Contracting, MCCAULEY DAYE O'CONNELL ARCHITECTS LIMITED, O'Byrne Jenkins Chartered Quantity Surveyors and Project Managers, and Black & White Engineering. Fiona Fleming liked thisFiona Fleming liked thisPOV: 08:06 this morning, sitting on the floor with my 4 year old daughter trying to find her shoe — we were already late — and I got a text from a partner asking my thoughts on an acquisition. By 9 if at all possible. And I thought - as I simultaneously texted with my right hand whilst reaching under the sofa with my left: this is where I'm sharpest. Right there. In the chaos. With the competing demands. With the ask for urgent clarity and the soft answer to an upset kid and the strategic thinking all happening at the same time. We talk about balance like it's something you achieve. Like one day you'll get it all organised and calm. That's not what's happening. 🤣 What's happening is the duality is making you clearer. The context switch is training your brain to move faster. The fact that you cannot do both things perfectly is actually the thing that teaches you to prioritise what actually matters. You're not less sharp because you're doing both. You're sharper BECAUSE you're doing both. Stop waiting for the perfect conditions. The conditions you're living in right now ARE the MBA. We found the shoe. I helped a partner out. I was 5 minutes late. Everyone survived. #WorkingMum #Leadership #FemaleLeaders #RealTalk
