Gavin Tyrrell reposted thisGavin Tyrrell reposted thisLast week I had the opportunity to attend the Dell Technologies solution centre in Limerick with Arrow ECS Ireland to learn more about how Dell are approaching A few of the highlights for me: Dell APEX Modern Consumption – an interesting approach to infrastructure procurement, allowing organisations to lock in pricing over a 1, 2 or 3-year term while only paying for the capacity they consume, with room to scale as demand grows. A practical way to balance flexibility with predictable costs. PowerStore Elite – impressive to see how Dell continues to evolve its storage platform with greater flexibility for both block and file workloads, strong data reduction capabilities, and simplified management. Dell Customer Solution Center – definitely one of the highlights of the two days. We got a tour of the demo centre and technology labs, including liquid immersion cooling for servers, AI demonstrations, robotics (literally a robot dog) and the opportunity to see emerging technologies in action rather than just reading about them. Events like these are always a good reminder of how quickly the infrastructure landscape is evolving. It’s valuable to step away from the day-to-day, learn from industry experts, and see where vendors are investing to help customers prepare for what’s next. Of course, it wasn’t all presentations! We also had the pleasure of attending the Bunratty Castle Medieval Banquet, which was a fantastic evening eating without cutlery. Invaluable time spent away immersed in conversations about where technology is heading and what that means for the brilliant clients we work with and support every day. Plenty of substance on the agenda too! Dell APEX, Azure Local, Dell Private Cloud the kind of content that gives you real clarity on where to take things next. But just as valuable was the time spent with the people in the room. When Dell, Microsoft, and Arrow are all under the same roof, the conversations that happen formally and informally are hard to replicate any other way. The relationship with Arrow and Dell in particular isn’t just commercial. It’s the kind of partnership where you can ask the hard questions and get straight answers. A few beers shared along the way, and some of the best conversations of the whole few days happened away from the agenda. That’s the thing about these events the networking is every bit as important as the content. It was great to bring together our partners for an immersive experience exploring the latest developments across Dell Technologies' infrastructure, cloud, automation, and AI portfolio. Over the course of the event, attendees gained valuable insights into Dell APEX, Storage, PowerEdge, and Private Cloud solutions, while exploring new opportunities to deliver greater value to customers. Discussions also focused on some of the most important trends shaping the IT landscape today, and the growing role of AI in customer environments. A particular highlight was the opportunity to experience these technologies firsthand through a guided tour of the AI Innovation Lab, Data Centre, and Demo Centre at the Dell Customer Solution Center.
