DeepOcean completes subsea decommissioning for Spirit Energy DeepOcean has successfully recovered a 100+ tonne subsea wellhead protection structure at Spirit Energy’s Seven Seas field and disconnected subsea infrastructure at the nearby Grove West field. The project, managed and executed from Aberdeen, combined DeepOcean’s specialist engineering and project management expertise with proprietary decommissioning tooling and ROV-enabled methodologies, eliminating the need for diver intervention. "By working closely with specialist contractors such as DeepOcean and leveraging the UK supply chain, we have safely recycled more than 95% of materials from decommissioned assets and infrastructure," says Ceri Wheaton, Decommissioning Manager at Spirit Energy. DeepOcean completes inter-array cable installation for RWE at Nordseecluster A offshore Germany The scope included engineering, project management, cable transport and installation, cable protection systems, seabed surveys, and burial activities. A total of 48 inter-array cables were installed and tested as part of the campaign. DeepOcean has entered into an agreement with bp to support the decommissioning and recycling of subsea infrastructure at the Foinaven field, West of Shetland, UK. The scope includes the recovery of risers, umbilicals, and associated subsea infrastructure, with engineering, project management, and offshore execution delivered by DeepOcean's Aberdeen team. "We greatly appreciate the opportunity to support bp in another important decommissioning scope in the UKCS," says Øyvind Mikaelsen, CEO of DeepOcean. The work was coordinated from the Remote Operations Center in Haugesund, while the subsea task was executed by an ROV.
