Durg dist gets NEET-JEE hostels, athletics track as Chhattisgarh CM launches school admissions
RAIPUR: Chief minister Vishnu Deo Sai on Monday announced four major education and sports infrastructure projects for Durg, including separate 100-seat hostels for NEET and JEE aspirants, a modern composite education department office, an auditorium and a football ground-cum-athletics track, while launching the state-level 'Shala Praveshotsav' for the 2026-27 academic session.Addressing the event at Jamgaon in Patan block of Durg, Sai said quality education was the strongest foundation of a developed Chhattisgarh and stressed that education should foster scientific temper, moral values and social responsibility, not merely good examination scores. He said the govt was working to ensure no child was deprived of opportunities due to a lack of resources.The CM welcomed newly admitted students, distributed free textbooks, uniforms, school bags and bicycles, and honoured National means-cum-merit scholarship toppers. He said the state now has 15 medical colleges and 24 Nalanda campuses, adding that no government school remained teacher-less after rationalisation. Education hubs were also being developed in remote areas such as Jagargunda in Bastar, he said
