‘IRAN DESPERATELY WANTS TO...’: Trump Rejects Talks Until Tehran Negotiates On US Terms

President Donald Trump claims Iran is “desperate” to meet with Washington and end the conflict because Tehran is “getting decimated” by continuing American strikes. Speaking alongside Lebanese President Joseph Aoun at the White House, Trump challenged suggestions that Iran showed no willingness to stop fighting, pointing instead to what he described as secret dialogue taking place behind the scenes. However, Trump said the United States had no interest in meeting until Tehran was prepared to negotiate in what he called a “meaningful” way. His remarks come as the two countries continue exchanging strikes despite a memorandum agreed only last month. Washington says its military campaign is intended to protect commercial shipping through the Strait of Hormuz, while Iran continues retaliating against American assets across the Gulf. Watch.
