Pete Rosier 🌹 shared thisIf I was in the Wild brand team I’d consider a creative reprint on these, it’s got to be worth it - hear me out… Emma’s out of Wimbledon. Guess that’s the risk of using the ‘success’ story in sport. The shift is to be more attuned to the tube car environment. We’ve been experiencing 30°+ tubes of late, as punters, we’re all acutely aware of a) sweating and b) how we smell - and this heat, it’s not going away. Wild is deodorant of course - it’s the perfect product occasion. Now to reframe the creative. Emma’s in - naturally a partnership which gives the brand fame. Nice 👌🏽 Now to adapt the headline from ‘winning formulation’ to nodding to the heat + Wild being THE solution as brand that gets it. Wild temperatures call for Wild formulations - maybe, a bit clunky. But “Wild temperatures” is spot on as the opener. Brand name + pain point. Any help for headline? #Boomshakalaka #Copywriting

Pete Rosier 🌹 posted thisBeen through a fair few hiring rounds lately. And I reckon over half the candidates, when I ask "do you have any questions for us?" they just say "not that I can think of." It's a complete own goal. 🤦🏻♂️ It shows a lack of curiosity, or genuine interest - probably inadvertently, but still. And in marketing of all places, where curiosity is basically the job description. So for the love of all things holy - ask a bloomin' question. Stuck? Steal one of these: How would you describe the culture here? What does success look like in this role after 6 months? What's the biggest challenge the team's facing right now? What would make someone really thrive here? What's changed most about the business in the last year? Why is this role open - growth, gap, or something else? It's not about having the perfect question. It's about having one. #Boomshakalaka

Pete Rosier 🌹 posted thisNo-one knows what they’re doing either. Been to a few in person marketing events of late. Side stepping the aye-eye chat for a hot minute. My biggest ‘take-away’ and something I take solace in, is that no-one really knows what they’re doing either. It’s a grounding experience to talk to senior marketers from the biggest brands around to the smaller scale ups and start ups, who when you lift up the car bonnet and take a deeper look are facing the same challenges, frustrations, unknowns as I am and fundamentally are sort of making up as they go along. That doesn’t mean ‘winging’ it, this is where experience comes into play. But yeah, marketing events are good for outside inspiration, seeing what’s new etc. But the best part, is speaking to others and knowing we’re very much in a similar boat, just with different sized paddles. You’re doing fine. PS – ‘take-away’ in this context gives me the ick. PPS – leave take-away for what it is, grub. #Boomshakalaka

Our Business Director Lydia Hunter had the pleasure of speaking at MAD//FEST about something we’ve become increasingly convinced of over the past decade: Social hasn’t just changed marketing. It’s humbled marketers… for the better. Having worked across brands with decades of consumer trust behind them, Lydia shared a lesson we see time and time again: Trust gets you considered. Relevance gets you chosen. A few of the key lessons from the session: Consumers don’t care about your marketing calendar. The product launch you’ve been planning for 18 months is competing with everything else happening in culture today. Newness alone isn’t a story. The brief is rarely the brief. Often the request is “we need a social campaign”. The real need might be confidence, credibility, advocacy or proof. Great marketing starts by diagnosing the problem, not simply answering the brief. Build confidence, not certainty. No one walks into a meeting with all the answers. The goal isn’t to eliminate uncertainty; it’s to create enough confidence to make the next move. Strategy should create freedom, not obligations. Content pillars shouldn’t become content prisons. The best strategies help teams spot opportunities rather than create content for the sake of filling a calendar. Stop buying audiences. Start buying formats. The creator economy continues to evolve. The creators winning today aren’t always those with the biggest audiences, but those with the strongest worlds, formats and repeatable systems for earning attention. And perhaps the biggest takeaway: Trust got brands to a certain point. But relevance is what will get them chosen in the future. Legacy brands built trust before social. But increasingly, they’ll need social to maintain it. Of course the heatwaves are helping. But the whole DASH team built everything underneath it to make this happen. And a big extra shout out to the Ops team for ensuring we’ve kept up. A few years ago (nearly 10), Alex and I were making early batches in a flat and handing them to strangers in London parks. Now millions of cans are moving through all the major supermarkets as well as through our website, in a single month. We really appreciate everyone who has picked up a can. I love hearing where people are drinking DASH. So if you’ve helped contribute last month’s sales I’d love to hear where you grabbed yours from. ...
