Last week we were delighted to bring together a senior group of industry leaders for Moody’s Energy Round Table in London, exploring how AI is shaping the future of energy and commodities.
The discussion reinforced a powerful takeaway:
AI will not only increase energy demand, it will fundamentally change how energy systems work.
From global macroeconomic dynamics and geopolitics, to grid resilience, data centres and the energy transition, contributors explored how AI is becoming both:
- a new source of demand, and
- a critical enabler of flexibility, efficiency and decarbonisation: if technology, markets and policy are designed together.
A huge thank you to our speakers and contributors, including Gaurav Ganguly, Chief International Economist at Moody’s; David Hone, Chief Economist at Shell; and Gareth Ramsay, Chief Climate Advisor at BP, as well as to all participants for an open, thoughtful, and challenging discussion.
These conversations are exactly what the Energy Round Table is designed to foster: candid dialogue, diverse perspectives, and practical insights on the forces reshaping the sector.
We look forward to continuing the conversation at the next Energy Round Table.
