Yesterday, NYC DSS Commissioner Erin Dalton hosted the latest Commissioner’s Forum for DSS, HRA, and DHS employees. Staff gathered in a collaborative space to share best practices, lessons learned, and effective strategies from their day-to-day work. The session helped amplify staff voices, promote peer support, and strengthen a culture of continuous improvement — advancing our shared goal of building a more responsive, equitable, and effective social service system for New Yorkers. NYC DSS Commissioner Erin Dalton, joined by Council Member Justin Sanchez and the NYC Department of Small Business Services participated in a walkthrough of the Hub in City Council District 17 in the Bronx to visit local businesses, highlight the City's business support services, and gain firsthand insight into the district's challenges and opportunities. The Hub serves a vital role as a center for commerce, shopping, office space, community, transportation, and economic support in the Bronx. This area is at a major crossroads, the juncture of East 149th Street and Third Avenue. Vibrant public art, colorful murals, and free public programming bring energy and culture to the Hub every day.
