Artificial intelligence has the potential to transform healthcare—but realizing that potential requires designing with accessibility and equity at the forefront.    Recently, NYU Langone Health was honored to participate in the AI Healthcare & Well-Being Summit 2026 in Bangkok, Thailand, where JR Rizzo, MD, Ilse Melamid Associate Professor of Rehabilitation Medicine, associate professor in the Departments of Neurology and Ophthalmology, health system director of disability inclusion, and vice chair of innovation and equity delivered the opening global keynote. Dr. Rizzo's keynote explored why AI for good is more than an aspiration—it is a societal imperative. He emphasized the importance of making accessibility a starting point for innovation rather than an afterthought. By centering the experiences of people with disabilities, we can develop technologies and healthcare solutions that improve outcomes for everyone.    This approach reflects the work underway across NYU Langone's Rusk Rehabilitation, Institute for Excellence in Health Equity, and research laboratories, where interdisciplinary teams of engineers, clinicians, scientists, and people with lived experience collaborate to advance the next generation of accessible technologies.    The summit also provided an opportunity to engage with disability advocates and leaders from around the world, including Thailand's accessibility community, reinforcing the importance of global collaboration in expanding opportunity, advancing health equity, and ensuring AI serves all people.

We’re continuing to expand access to expert specialty and surgical care in Suffolk County with the opening of NYU Langone Ambulatory Care Patchogue! The new 54,000-square-foot center—located at 196 East Main Street in downtown Patchogue on the site of the former Burlington Coat Factory building—features six state-of-the-art operating rooms and multispecialty physician practices, offering surgical services including orthopedics, urology, general surgery, gynecology, plastic surgery, hand surgery, podiatry, and pain management. This latest opening reflects our continued investment in expanding healthcare access across Long Island, following our recent announcement of plans to build a world-class academic medical center in Melville and ahead of the opening of an ambulatory surgery center in Manhasset later this year. “This location provides our patients in Suffolk County with even greater access to expert clinicians and the seamless, top-quality care experience that defines NYU Langone,” said Alec C. The future of men's health will be shaped by prevention, earlier risk identification, and more connected care.   At the second annual Men's Health Lab (hosted by Hearst, publisher of Men’s Health), Dr. Oren Cahlon, Executive Vice President, Vice Dean for Clinical Affairs and Strategy, and Chief Clinical Officer at NYU Langone Health, joined Richard Dorment, Editorial Director of Men's Health, to discuss how healthcare is evolving to help men live healthier, longer lives.   As part of NYU Langone's partnership with Men's Health, the conversation explored how reducing barriers to care, strengthening relationships with primary care providers, and integrating specialty care can improve health outcomes for men. Dr. Cahlon also shared how innovations such as AI-driven predictive analytics, personalized screening, and emerging blood-based cancer detection technologies have the potential to identify disease earlier and make preventive care more precise.   As Dr. Cahlon noted, integrated health systems like NYU Langone are uniquely positioned to connect these innovations directly to patient care—making it easier for men to access the right care at the right time and helping shift healthcare from treating disease to preventing it.   Watch the full conversation on the NYU Langone Health YouTube channel to learn how prevention, technology, and integrated care are shaping the future of men's health.
