  • The OUr Story video series highlights the incredible journeys of our students and staff, showing how OUr schools, OUr students, and OUr alumni are making an impact every day. Pacifica High School alumn Viridiana Martinez (Class of 2019) has come full circle—she’s now teaching 9th-grade English at Del Sol High School! As a Triton, Viridiana was part of the Teaching and Educational Careers Academy (TECA) and the Advanced Dance Program, experiences that shaped her passion for education and creativity. Today, she’s giving back to our community as both a teacher and role model—founding Del Sol’s Dance Club, inspiring students, and even pursuing her master’s degree.

  • 📚 Districtwide Professional Development Day On Monday, we came together as a district for a day dedicated to growth, reflection, and connection. The day began with a powerful keynote panel featuring current and former students who shared their personal experiences and insights on how educators can better support students emotionally and mentally—beyond academics. Their stories reminded us of the lasting impact teachers have far beyond the classroom. Following the keynote, staff participated in a variety of breakout sessions centered on instructional strategies, wellness, and personal growth. We’re grateful for our educators’ continued commitment to learning and for always putting students first.

Last week, A4E joined Channel Islands High School and OXNARD UNION HIGH SCHOOL DISTRICT to celebrate the groundbreaking of the new Channel Islands High School Aquatic Center, a momentous project made possible through Measure A bond funding. Designed to support water polo and swim teams, future PE swimming programs, and community-based learn-to-swim initiatives, the Aquatic Center will serve as both a student hub and a community resource. The design takes inspiration from the Channel Islands archipelago, incorporating flowing forms that echo ocean currents. Undulating pathways, a wave-like roofline, and durable materials all work together to express movement while supporting structure and function. The result is an Aquatic Center that reflects the school’s modern identity and provides a safe, welcoming environment for students and the community. We are proud to support Oxnard Union High School District in bringing this vision to life and look forward to sharing more as the project progresses. #EducationalDesign #SchoolDesign #Architecture #CommunityDesign #BondProjects #A4E
