I’m sharing two new stories for The Wall Street Journal this morning that highlight the continued momentum in the private-credit space. Key updates: Benefit Street Partners has amassed $10 billion in investible capital—including leverage—for its latest real estate debt fund. This represents a massive sixfold increase in capacity compared to their previous fund from 2022. Davidson Kempner Capital Management has closed its second asset-backed private credit fund with over $1.1 billion in fresh capital. Notably, the firm saw a 70% re-up rate from previous investors, signaling strong confidence in their asset-backed strategy. As institutional appetite for commercial real estate credit and nonbank lending grows, these closes represent a significant shift in how capital is being deployed.
