One of my favourite parts of doing product here is that PMs are trusted to take big swings. In my first month, Tyler Benning, Rahib K., and I completely revamped the UX for our self-serve product and redid our pricing and packaging with new SKUs. We didn’t get mired in alignment or sign off, the mandate was simply to ship and learn amazingly quickly. What that looks like when a rep opens it in the morning: → Every meeting already has a pre-call brief written: prep, a summary of your last call, and every open action item on the deal → Post-call recaps write themselves: the wins, the friction, and what the customer committed to → Action items across every deal, pulled automatically from Slack, calls, and email → A full account view with MEDDPICC filled in and intent, expansion, and risk signals surfaced per account → A live portfolio read for post-sales: health, upsell, churn risk, forecasts, and where each customer sits on their journey → An academy for rep certification And what's coming next: always-on agents that review deals and requalify the whole book overnight, forecasting mapped to how we actually sell, and signal-based outbound in each rep's own voice. Huge credit to the team: Matthew Suri built the post-sales motion and Ayush Sharma built the application and pre-sales productivity layer. Ayush Sharma reacted on thisAyush Sharma reacted on thisToday's special shoutout goes to Edgar Sze 🐐 It's been ~6 months since I joined Profound, but 5 years since I first met Edgar. And aside from being a good friend, he's the reason why I now work on a marketing team that I'd never want to compete against. Believe it or not, Edgar and I were getting a massage together in Queens. You'd think we'd try to stay relaxed and chat about anything other than work. Instead, Edgar was showing me a clip of James Cadwallader on TBPN and telling me why I'd be a fool not to join... and, he was right. Every person on our marketing team is the best at what they do. They're aggressive in their work, and kind with their team. We move at a high velocity, yet we still looks around to see who needs support. It sounds simple, but it becomes scarce in practice. Ayush Sharma reacted on thisAyush Sharma reacted on thisThe best GTM Engineers I know build tools for sellers/reps, and the quality bar is getting impressively high. Latest example: what Edgar built at Profound - "Prophet" He wrote a deep dive on the gtm engineer on “Prophet” - Profound’s internal tool being used by nearly every seller and CX team member at the company. The core learnings & features: 1/ Still have to nail the data foundations No matter how impressive the tooling that you build on top, if the underlying data isn't clean and accurate, it doesn't matter. This takes a lot more time than one might think and often requires engineering background GTMEs. 2/ You can custom-build for the entire rep workflow The best case is that all sellers / CX reps live in one place, so they're not hopping between tools. What Edgar built with Prophet is just that - it has account research, LLM semantic search on top of existing data, upcoming meetings, intent signals, and much more. 3/ With a strong vision and a few engineers, you can migrate a large team onto your own stack in a few months Edgar and his team didn't just build a vibe-coded tool. It's production quality, handling the daily workflows across all of Profound's sales and CX team. It was a lot of work, but they moved quickly and it has gotten mass adoption. 4/ The bar is just getting higher There's so much more to do and build on top of this strong foundation, particularly when reps are living inside of it every day.
