Andrew (Drew) Smith shared thisMost B2B marketing leaders I talk to are aware that AI is changing how buyers research. Fewer have actually looked at their own numbers. If you want a fast, honest picture of where your brand stands across ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity, and Google AI Overviews... we built the audit for you. Free. 5 to 8 minutes. No credit card. Andrew (Drew) Smith shared thisWe've been running LLM Discoverability audits on B2B brands for a bit now. Same test each time... 30+ buyer prompts, 5 LLMs (ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews), same scoring. The spread has been bigger than I expected. At the top of our range so far: a B2B brand appeared in 71% of test prompts. Their citation share across the five LLMs was legitimately strong. When buyers ask AI about their category, this brand shows up, gets named, and gets described accurately. At the bottom: 0%. Same audit, same 150 test runs, not a single mention. Both of those companies have a real product. Real customers. Real content teams. The difference isn't budget or age or vertical. It's whether they've built the specific signals LLMs use to decide who to cite... schema markup, definitional content, technical hygiene, offsite authority. If you don't know where you fall in that range, we built a free audit that'll tell you in 5 to 8 minutes. Check the link in the comments to see where you stand.

Andrew (Drew) Smith posted thisSomething I keep coming back to in many B2B marketing conversations I've had lately... Buyers aren't opening Google first anymore. They're opening ChatGPT. Or Claude. Or Perplexity. They're typing "who are the best {category} vendors for a mid-market {vertical}" and getting an answer with specific company names in it. Which means whether your brand shows up in those AI answers is starting to matter as much, if not more, as whether you rank on page one of Google. The uncomfortable part is that most B2B teams have no idea where they stand. That's why we built the LLM Discoverability Audit. It tests your brand across ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity, and Google AI Overviews and gives you a composite score plus your three biggest gaps. 5 to 8 minutes. No credit card. This doesn't compete with Adobe's LLM Optimizer, Omnibound, or Profound. Those are enterprise-grade platforms for teams already investing in generative engine optimization. This is a stepping stone... a fast way to see whether you should be paying attention at all. If you're a B2B marketing leader who's been curious about AI visibility but hasn't actually looked at your own numbers, this is the fastest way to get those answers. Link in comments.

Andrew (Drew) Smith posted thisLast week, I spoke with Nadia Davis, MBA about the intersection of AI and marketing analytics. And one thing that we touched on is worth sharing here as well. And, that's about what AI *can't* do in relation to marketing analytics. So, let's get into it. First off, AIs are great at fetching data and answering simple questions such as, "What was the ROI of LinkedIn last quarter". AI can do that no problem. But, where it's going to start to fail is if you start asking *why* questions. "Why is LinkedIn ROI down 10% quarter over quarter," is an example of one of those why questions. Why is an AI going to fail here? Because, the AI only has access to the data it has access to. Which means that it's going to check all of its data points related to LinkedIn, such as spend, posts, reactions (if it has access to that), clicks from posts, campaign names, etc. But, what it won't have access to (unless you find a way to feed it this information), is the fact that your LinkedIn approach and strategy changed. You're no longer boosting posts, but rather now spending on LinkedIn display ads. Your AI is likely to not know that. What does this mean? It means that you can't cede 100% of your marketing analysis over to AIs. You still need humans involved in the analysis, because you still need human eyesight on the strategic changes that may be causing many of the shifts you're seeing your marketing performance data. That doesn't mean that you shouldn't invest in AI as a marketing analyst. You should... it'll still be a valuable add-on to your marketing team. But, you just have to know what the limits are, and what it can't see. That is how you avoid the mistakes that others have made with AI analysts.

Andrew (Drew) Smith posted thisSales people... do not do back-to-back calls. If I don't answer, or I send you to voice mail, that is not an invitation to call me back immediately. Back-to-back calls indicate an emergency of some sort. If you do this, I can tell you that it's going to be about 10x harder to sell me something than if you just respect the fact that I was busy the first time you called. Leave a voice mail... if I'm interested, I'll call you back. But back-to-back calls or double-calls is not it.

Andrew (Drew) Smith posted thisYesterday, I sat down with Nadia Davis, MBA from CaliberMind on the Hitchhiker's Guide to Marketing Analytics to talk about the intersection of AI and marketing analytics. One of the most important things we discussed in the webinar is about data accuracy and data quality. 100% data accuracy is not the goal. You'll never get there. That being said, you need to start working on your data now. Waiting until you've built AI agents or layered AI on top of bad data is the wrong approach. You don't wait until the rain storm comes to make sure your roof is in good repair. You do that before the rain storm comes. Same concept applies to your data in relation to AI. AI is a force multiplier. So, if you have bad data, it's going to cause exponentially more problems when you layer AI on top of it. If you missed it, check out the link in the comments for the recording to get caught up on what you missed.

Andrew (Drew) Smith posted thisMCP servers are great. But they aren't the destination. They are the beginning of the journey. MCP servers dictate the tools that your LLM/AI can use to within another platform. But, they're just that... tools. The goal is to then build AI agents that can use those tools in specific ways for your organization. Things that don't already exist. Things custom-built for your use cases. Things like anomaly detection, assistants, analysts, and more. Plugging your LLM into the MCP server still requires you to prompt the LLM with what you want it to do. Building agents allows you to automate things... it lessens your workload even further.

Andrew (Drew) Smith liked thisAndrew (Drew) Smith liked thisDon't listen to the doomers. New engineering roles are popping up left, right, and center and you can get one too. Almost anyone can become an engineer now. Here’s my definitive guide to the hottest jobs in tech: GTM Engineering → 17 Clay workflows, 6 mo of outbound email, only to increase your unsubscribe rate by 40%. Marketing Engineering → Content operating system with 13 inputs, 4 ai models, to generate a listicle about “6 ways to sound more human online.” Financial Engineering → 94-tab forecasting model with Monte Carlo simulations, just to discover you’ll run out of cash in… roughly the same month as last quarter. Recruiting Engineering → 3-agent recruiting process that screens 12,000 candidates to hire the CEO’s former coworker. Operations Engineering → 9-step automation that saves 2 hours per week, costing you $14,778 in tokens —the most expensive hourly rate you've paid for ops. Legal Engineering → Has Claude review contracts, ChatGPT explain them, Gemini summarize them, then still sends them to Legal because indemnity is freaking hard to understand. Accounting Engineering → AI expense categorization platform with 99.8% accuracy. Still can't close books on time. Sales Engineering → Prompting Claude Code to build a prototype to drive a deal that will never see production. Community Engineering → An engagement pod full of bots and NPCs that gets 2,000 people to comment “Following.” Procurement Engineering → AI generated RFPs to assess AI generated proposal. Six months of evaluations cut down to 1 week to buy the software the head honcho has a bias for. Engineering Engineering → Re-branding cron jobs, triggers, and apis to "agentic execution."

Andrew (Drew) Smith reacted on thisAndrew (Drew) Smith reacted on thisHot take: AI is not making marketing strategy less important. It’s exposing where strategy never existed in the first place. AI can help teams create more content, launch campaigns faster, personalize at scale, and analyze more data than ever before. But it cannot fix: • An unclear audience • A weak point of view • Disconnected customer journeys • Content created without a purpose • Measurement that does not connect to business outcomes Speed is valuable—but only when you’re moving in the right direction. The marketers who win with AI will not simply be the ones using the most tools. They’ll be the ones who understand their customers, build a clear strategy, and use AI to make strong thinking move faster. AI is an accelerator, but it is not a substitute for knowing what you’re doing.

Andrew (Drew) Smith liked thisAndrew (Drew) Smith liked this98% of visitors scroll, read, and bounce — without a word. 👀 New in Docket's Marketing Agent: Contextual Callouts. As you scroll, the agent reads the page and surfaces the exact question you're already thinking. Comparison table? → "How does Docket stay accurate?" Qualification section? → "Can this qualify buyers automatically?" One click and it's a real conversation — not a blank box. Buyers rarely volunteer questions. So we ask first. Andrew (Drew) Smith liked thisAndrew (Drew) Smith liked thisThe Agent we're perfecting now is kind of amazing. It takes any Email or Landing Page and creates it as an editable template (or draft asset) in Paminga. It can pull from your legacy MAP's API (where terms allow). You can point it at any public URL. Migrating assets manually is out the window. Weeks or months of work become hours. It doesn't even have to be from a MAP at all. You can point it at any published landing page and end up with an editable template in Paminga. Go live is August.
