Not what we want to sell. Not what number we want to hit. What kind of team. Out of that conversation, the leaders built something called The Forge. The name is intentional. A forge is where raw material is shaped under heat and pressure into something stronger than it was before. That is what great leadership does. That is what great culture does. And that is the standard we committed to as a leadership team first, and now as an organization. We defined our charter: Forged in Excellence We defined our belief: Around here, we win together and hold ourselves to the highest standards We cemented our motto: Quota is a Team Sport And we created three monthly awards to recognize the people who live that standard out loud: 🏆 OAI Award | Ownership. Action. Impact. For the person who saw something that needed doing and did it. 🤝 All In Award | Team-First Behavior. For the person who made everyone around them better by going above and beyond in their own role. 📈 Fine Tune Award | Continuous Improvement. For the person who asked for feedback, acted on it, and got visibly better. These are not participation awards. They go to people who are performing and showing up the right way because how we win matters as much as whether we win. Not because the topics are simple, but because the best explanations usually are. With OpenAI previewing GPT-5.6, I thought this was the perfect way to break down what these new models actually mean. Think of ChatGPT models like different types of helpers: Luna is like the fast friend who can answer quickly and help with everyday tasks. Terra is like the well-rounded student who can handle most assignments, projects, and work without needing the most advanced tools every time. Sol is like the advanced problem-solver you bring in when the task is harder, more complex, or requires deeper thinking. The big idea is that not every task needs the same level of intelligence, speed, or cost. Sometimes you need quick help. Sometimes you need a balanced assistant. And sometimes you need the strongest reasoning model available. That is what makes this model family interesting. It gives users and businesses more choice depending on what they are trying to accomplish. GPT-5.6 Sol is being positioned as OpenAI’s strongest model yet, with improvements across complex workflows like coding, biology, and cybersecurity. It also introduces deeper reasoning options, including a mode designed to give the model more time to think through difficult problems. But the part that stands out to me is not just that the models are getting smarter. It is that the experience is becoming more flexible. For students, professionals, builders, and businesses, this means AI can become more useful across a wider range of situations. You may not always need the most powerful model. You need the right model for the job. That is a simple idea, but a powerful one. The future of AI will not just be about asking better questions. It will also be about having the right kind of intelligence available at the right moment. And sometimes, the best way to understand that future is to ask ChatGPT to explain it like you are in 8th grade.
