Mingyang Ge liked thisMingyang Ge liked thisSubmitted my final code review two weeks ago, my 8.5-year journey at Amazon came to an end. When I joined Amazon in Santa Cruz, I never imagined I’d spend so many years there. Over the years, I had the opportunity to help launch Alexa Mobile Platform, ship the digital cabin in the Rivian EDV, and build Smart Delivery Glasses for Amazon’s last-mile delivery drivers. Along the way, I got to build products and platforms from prototype to production, solve hard technical problems, and learn what it takes to operate at massive scale. More importantly, I got to do it alongside some of the smartest, most driven, and most fun people I’ve ever met. Looking back, I feel incredibly fortunate. Not everyone gets the opportunity to build entirely new products inside a company the size of Amazon, and I’m grateful for the trust, mentorship, friendships, and countless lessons along the way. I’m starting a new chapter at OpenAI. AI is moving faster than any technology shift I’ve experienced in my career, and the opportunity to help build what’s next is both exciting and humbling. I’m looking forward to learning from an exceptional team, contributing where I can, and shipping things that matter. Here’s to the next adventure.

I'm continuing to lead MLflow, and the work on LLMOps continues full speed ahead🚀 What I'm most excited about is being closer to the ecosystem. So many folks are building in the LLMOps and agent space here, and I'm looking forward to a lot more collaborations and innovations. When I joined, the ML org was just a handful of engineers and a vision for MLflow that won my heart. As the org grew, I had the opportunity to work on impactful projects like MLflow, Model Registry, Feature Store, and the Agent Platform. As I debated with my decision, here is what I kept coming back to: code writes and ships itself, systems evolve, and priorities shift. The experiences and the people I’ve shared them with are what stay with you. The whiteboard debates that ran way too long, the late-night outages where someone I barely knew had my back, the product calls we argued intensely about, and the colleagues I mentored who gave back so much more in return—those are the memories I’m taking with me. Thank you all for an incredible journey. There are so many people I want to thank, I only wish I had taken a lot more pictures.
