  • Collaborative Filtering Algorithm Based Video Recommendation System

    • Developed a Collaborative-Filtering video products recommendation system based on 4.6 million user ratings data
    • Implemented recommendation system with Scala and Spark RDD (MapReduce) based on Jaccard and Cosine similarity
    • Integrated LSH (Locality Sensitive Hash) algorithm to improve efficiency of recommendation system by 10%
    • Implemented SON algorithm and other optimization to improve accuracy and achieve the RMSE value from 1.4 to 0.9

  • Real Time News Website

    • Built data pipeline with Python, RabbitMQ and MongoDB to scrap, monitor and dedupe latest news from various sources
    • Designed and implemented a news website with Node.js and React to allow user browsing and searching news
    • Applied TensorFlow and CNN algorithms to implement offline news topic modeling pipeline, and integrated TenserFlow Serving with website server to implement online news recommendation system

  • Cloud Server-Based Language Partner Android Application

    • Developed the Android application in Java to allow users practice oral English with functions of conversation appointment system, user comments system and instant messages system
    • Designed and implemented the user interface in Android Studio with XML and Android UI layout
    • Implemented the web service and database in cloud server -- Firebase (NoSQL database)
    • Implemented automatic language partners matching system with machine learning k-means algorithm

  • D3-Based Chinese Tourism Data Visualization

    • Developed a web-based interactive tourism visualization system to allow users view tourism information in different
    forms, such as geographic heatmap and Treemap
    • Applied Python Scrapy and Beautiful Soup to scrape and extract data from tourism websites, and stored data in MongoDB
    • Implemented visualization graphs with D3.js and Google Maps API, and built final visualization website with Angular2
    and Node.js

  • Tourism route arrangement system

    • Realized train route arrangement system with agile software development methodology, including requirement analysis, design, implementation and test
    • Implemented functions in Java, developed user interface with Java GUI Swing and tested the final system with JUnit
