Our leadership team just spent three days together with one rule: say the real thing.
I've sat through offsites that were status updates or a kumbaya session with better snacks. This was not that.
We debated.
We debated over what to build first. About what to stop building. About the gap between what customers expect from us and what we wish they wanted instead.
Nobody softened their position to keep the peace.
At times it was challenging… but we balanced it with some fun out on a boat, breathwork to give us clarity, and dinners with our board and investors to build camaraderie.
It all worked.
By the third day, we weren't six people defending six functions. We were one team looking at the same picture.
The hardest call wasn't what to add, it was what to cut.
Companies are inclined to build everything customers and prospects want. But that doesn’t scale.
Ruthless prioritization isn't about growing the list.
It's about having the nerve to shorten it to give us the bandwidth to build something truly transformational.
When I founded Condor, we had a strong opinion on what was possible, where the market was heading, how we could make the future of real time financial clarity and connection between the entire ecosystem possible.
We built Condor for that, and today, this is more possible than I’ve ever seen before.
We’re not building a tool to make your accruals more defensible, your forecasts more precise, or your vendors more accountable… we’re building something larger that will redefine what’s possible to accelerate the entire financial infrastructure across the industry.
We’re playing to make a huge impact on cancer treatments, rare diseases, and break the barriers for capital and planning to make this possible.
I walked out more convinced than I've ever been. Because we debated about the right things, out loud, in the same room and everyone started to see the bigger vision that doesn’t quite exist just yet.
To my team,
Deirdre Mullen,
Nim Fox,
Joe Roualdes,
Maria Abouseif,
Jeff Jahnke, MBA, and Jay Tailor: that was the best three days we've had together.
Battle testing our thinking and our ideas makes every single person sharper.
Most importantly, it makes our company sharper, which delivers more for our customers and all the people counting on them to bring new treatments and therapies to market.
Building the right team is everything.
We are hiring across the team right now in engineering, product, and experts across clinical operations and R&D finance. If you want to be part of a company that is working with some of the largest pharmaceutical companies partnering to accelerate life-saving treatments, DM me or any Condor team member.
