Jonathan Gregg posted thisTherapy schools:Be ethical. Also: never tell you avg salary expectations. I mean, you know, as a newly minted therapist studying ethics. For the NCE. I wonder how the ethics board would explain hiding a massively material fact from the relevant person trying to figure out a massive life transition. But maybe that’s just me.

Jonathan Gregg posted thisCoaches should NOT be doing therapy!!!!🤬🤬🤬🤬 I agree! However, I have never personally heard of, nor heard of someone who heard of, a therapist anywhere in the history of forever, saying “that’s not therapy”. Coencidently, we all ALSO claim therapy requires a specialized license, nobody else can do it. So, everything, literally EVERYTHING is therapy…but also nobody without a license can do therapy. It seems something in this argument here is flawed.

Jonathan Gregg posted thisUPS This morning we tried to pick up an Amazon package at a UPS store. We were told we had to pay $15. When I told the manager I didn’t understand and asked him why while I recorded it, he told me to get the hell out of my store, and threatened to call the police. I never did get an explanation, but aparenly my calm questions were a criminal offense. This was wildly inappropriate. After an hour now with customer service, I have been passed around three times, as well as offered to “take a report” several times. At no point, since this all started, have I actualy been able to speak to anybody, nor resolve anything.

Jonathan Gregg posted this“Solution focused therapy”…”pipe not leak plumbing”. Why is the second not a thing? I’m not aware of any other profession that has an entirely different word for actualy doing the thing. Fit the leak in your roof roofers. Set your broken bone doctor Put out the fire firefighter We keep wondering why we have issues in mental health, and wanting to help clients. Many, MANY people either avoid therapy or drop it because they aren’t going anywhere, it’s just endless talking. And yes, just being present is the proper course. But only in a limited number of situations. The very fact that we needed to invent an entirely different catagory to say actualy doing the thing, I’d posit, is part of the problem.

Jonathan Gregg posted thisI thought I left that world behind 20 years ago. The bullsh*t; the empty words. Avoiding the actual problem, talking about everything but the actual pain-point. Back then, that was sales. A deal would die. Bad process would survive another quarter. Nobody's life was at stake. Eighteen months into training, I'm in a session. Client answering every question I asked. Thoughtfully. At length. Same feeling. I paused. "You're answering everything I'm asking. I'm wondering if there's something you're not saying." Long silence. "I didn't think you'd actually want to hear it." Same skill. Completely different stakes. In sales, you spot the gap and maybe save a deal. In a therapy room, you spot it — or you don't — and it matters in a way that's harder to walk back. That's the move nobody teaches. Not the question itself. The willingness to name what isn't being said instead of following what is. You don't learn it from a textbook. You learn it from reps. Lots of reps From doing it wrong, then less wrong, until you can feel the difference between someone who's open and someone who's performing openness. I thought that version of me was done when I changed careers. Turns out you don't really leave things behind. You just stop calling them by their name.

Jonathan Gregg posted thisFree internships, low pay, the hours. Therapy economics sucks. But we don’t tell therapy students what’s coming. We don’t say any of this on the schools site. We don’t talk about it during orientation. He’ll, most schools don’t even publish placement stats.(kind of a sign one would think…) They don’t tell you internship placements will take work. And likely be free. We don’t tell students you will start off making like, 50-65k. Long hours. And then when student graduate, they don’t spend long in the field. The situation should be changed, I agree. But we’re borderline lying to students on what they will be facing, if nothing else by omission. Why arent we telling students these facts right at the beginning, BEFORE day one?

Why Independent Oversight Reviews Are Becoming Standard Practice More healthcare organizations are adopting a simple governance principle: If revenue is critical to the organization, it should be independently verified. An Independent Revenue & Compliance Diagnostic is not about replacing teams or pointing fingers. It’s about answering leadership-level questions like: • Are we capturing revenue intentionally — or mechanically? • Do our billing patterns align with payer expectations? • Where are we exposed during audits, even if nothing is “wrong”? • What do we not need to worry about? The strongest organizations don’t wait for payer scrutiny to ask these questions. They build verification into their growth strategy. At Homefront, our diagnostics are: • Independent • Non-disruptive • Neutral toward staff, vendors, and EMRs • Designed to support informed decisions — not sell fear Sometimes the result is confirmation that systems are solid, sometimes it highlights opportunities or risk. Both outcomes are valuable. If you’ve never had an independent revenue and compliance review, it may be worth asking why.

There are very few behavioral health providers that have their strategy mapped out like a real business. And that's a problem. Most providers can tell you everything about their clinical programming. But ask them where they'll be in three years, and they give you a blank stare. That's not a strategy. That's just reacting. One of the tools I use for this is a 1-3-5 year strategy doc. This is a written document where you have your roadmap and goals. Some of the questions it should answer: → Where will you be in 1 year? What will your revenue look like? → Where will you be in 3 years? What markets will you have entered? → Where will you be in 5 years? What will your brand be known for? You can't build a sustainable business without a roadmap. And you can't help people long-term if you're not building something that lasts.

The #1 Reason Clinics Plateau (And How to Break Through It) Most clinics don’t plateau because of poor service. They plateau because they rely on the same outdated growth methods they started with. Referrals worked 10 years ago. Today? They’re not enough to sustain or scale your clinic. The clinics achieving real growth all have one thing in common: They run on predictable, automated systems — not chance and hope. Once you shift from manual marketing to structured lead generation, your growth becomes measurable, repeatable, and dependable. Plateaus aren’t signs of failure. They’re signals. Signals that it’s time to evolve. Let’s take your clinic from “flat” to “scaling.” #HealthcareGrowth #ClinicScaling #MedicalMarketing #BusinessSystems

We're entering a new climate where doctors who are private practice owners can no longer rely on "better services" as the only factor for maintaining their market share. The reason for this is because everyone in tech right now is figuring out how to decrease the costs of care getting it as close to ZERO as possible with AI. Some are choosing to use it to help with clinical ops or admin while others are taking a bolder approach of training it to replace doctors entirely. So whether you choose to believe that this is a factor, I'm telling you that relying on services alone in 2025 and beyond IS NOT ENOUGH! YC has a saying, build something people want. I feel like doctors have lost so much ground in healthcare because they have either ignored or dismissed this as a job or responsibility of someone other than them to manage. Build something patients want or more specifically build something patients need. We all know that your services are superior to anything that tech can ever build but this is still ignoring and dismissing the actual problem. The who in the who builds is you, not tech. Not some 18 year kid who just dropped out of Stanford because they thought it would be cool to get into YC who is now blowing up your inbox begging you to be their first customer. You are the builder now. You with your exceptional services are responsible for building something patients want. Doctors choosing to stay buyers in a world where we have AI is what could finally end practice ownership for good. #HealthcareOnLinkedIn

🎧Working with autohypnosis is not “woo.” It’s attention training, nervous-system regulation, and targeted neuroplasticity, delivered through repetition. A client recently said: “The customized recording feels very grounding.” That line matters, because custom is where the brain starts to listen differently. What’s happening in the brain during a customized autohypnosis recording When you listen (especially with eyes closed, slower breathing, and a clear intention), a few big systems shift: 1) Attention narrows, noise drops Guided language acts like a spotlight. It reduces cognitive load and gives your brain a single track to follow. This helps move you out of scattered “open tabs” mode and into focused processing. 2) The nervous system downshifts A calm voice + paced breathing cues safety. When your body feels safer, the brain becomes more receptive to learning and change. Threat signals soften, and self-protective reactivity eases. 3) Repetition drives plasticity Your brain changes through repeated activation. Listening to the same tailored phrases and images builds familiarity, strengthens the pathway, and makes the new response easier to access in real life. 4) Memory reconsolidation can do its job When a memory or pattern is gently activated in a safe state, it becomes “editable.” That’s the window where old emotional learning can update and a new association can stick. 👉Why customized recordings tend to work better than generic ones 🎧Personal relevance increases salience. When the words match your actual life, your brain flags it as important. Self-relevant language engages systems involved in meaning-making and identity, which boosts uptake. 🎧Your exact triggers and goals are targeted. Generic scripts aim wide. Custom scripts aim true. We can speak directly to the pattern you run, the moments you wobble, and the regulation cues that actually land for you. 🎧Less resistance, more cooperation. If the language sounds like you, your system argues less. The recording feels like support, not instruction. 🎧Better imagery, better encoding. The brain learns fast through sensory detail. Custom cues (places, phrases, values, body sensations) make the “new track” easier to rehearse and remember. The practical outcome 🎧A customized autohypnosis recording is like giving your brain a consistent, safe “practice room” where it can rehearse a new baseline: calmer physiology, clearer focus, kinder self-talk, stronger follow-through. Not a magic wand. More like a precision tool. If you’re curious, comment RECORDING and I’ll share what I include in a truly effective custom track (and how to use it so it actually changes your day, not just your mood for 10 minutes). #autohypnosis #neuroplasticity #nervoussystem #performancepsychology #selfregulation #mindfulness #focus #mentalfitness

AidRx (Techstars ‘25) • 2K followers
At AidRx (Techstars ‘25), we’ve been receiving referrals directly from psychologists, therapists, and other allied clinicians. The most amazing part is the impact we’re making by being plugged in right when care is happening, with access to chart notes, patient input, and care team insights. This kind of collaboration changes everything. With full context, our pharmacists have been able to: ✅ Support a patient managing depression who is planning to start a family. We reviewed their medication, created a safe titration schedule, transitioned them to an antidepressant with a better safety profile during pregnancy, and set up monitoring every 2–4 weeks to ensure efficacy and safety. ✅ Work directly within a pediatrician’s workflow to manage a complex case involving a child with autism spectrum disorder and pharmacogenomic testing. The child started on buspirone, and the parent shared, “My son is more like himself. Your recommendation of buspirone is the one thing so far that hasn’t caused behavioral changes or aggression.” ✅ Coordinate care for patients with overlapping cardiovascular, neurological, and psychological conditions, where pharmacists acted as the glue connecting treatment plans across multiple specialists. This is what happens when pharmacists are integrated into care teams. It’s not just about prescribing, it’s about context, collaboration, and continuity of care. That is the future of primary care. As more patients receive care remotely, pharmacists can be seamlessly plugged into these virtual teams, providing clinical support without creating more fragmentation. When pharmacists work alongside allied clinicians, patients receive care that is coordinated, safe, and effective. This is the future of collaborative care, and it’s already happening at AidRx. More exciting updates coming soon from the U.S., where we’re scaling pharmacist-led care delivery in both community and specialist settings. #clinicalpharmacy #mentalhealth #collaborativecare #pharmacistprovider #healthcareinnovation #AidRx #digitalhealth
