I recently got back from a day in Austin with IBM, talking IBM Quantum. I enjoyed the interactive aspect of the day, with a lot of Texas university people there sorting out Quantum education needs. Lot of bright IBM engineers talking to us about where Quantum is today and where it is headed. As Moore's law progress slows down in many areas of technology hardware and speeds - we are seeing Quantum preparing to take leaps. For any FNTS customers who are following me, are you even discussing Quantum yet? IF you are not, you should be. Quantum computers are already being sold to companies. It is just years before IBM and others start selling time on Quantum computers. Wait, they already are! Large companies are already learning how to leverage Quantum. I know AI is distracting people. AI is an algorithm whereas Quantum is more about circuits. They are different but on parallel tracks. Eventually they will converge and AI will aid people learning how to prepare data for Quantum use. Back to being prepare though. You need to start thinking about quantum level encryption for your enterprise application and sensitive data. You have 3-4 years maybe before hackers are able to use Quantum to break all your current non-quantum encryption. When this happens- no data

Excellent article from CIO Journal that hits on a critical truth: successful AI transformation is a business and people initiative, first and foremost. Microsoft COO Carolina Dybeck Happe is spot-on in highlighting Kaizen (continuous improvement) and a focus on people and processes before technology. The expectations of tech leaders continue to expand. CIOs are no longer viewed as only responsible for reliable systems; they are expected to shape company strategy, set the pace for transformation, and align technology choices with enterprise priorities. Meeting those expectations requires clarity of vision and the ability to enable the business to move forward with discipline.     Agentic AI will intensify this shift. These systems are designed to act with growing autonomy, which means that governance, training, and risk management must be addressed from the start rather than as afterthoughts. Confirming the right data foundations, quality and controls will allow organizations to integrate these capabilities responsibly and establish trust in the results they deliver.     Innovation also cannot occur in a single lane. Enterprises need to rethink existing processes, pursue exponential opportunities, and invest in long-term transformation at the same time.
