Leading up to this promotion, it has been a wonderful experience over the past year building a strategic roadmap of products to support HR, executing on some that have come to fruition, and the built momentum to deliver on those remaining. In this new chapter, I have the opportunity to lead all People Analytics products, Product Managers, and Product Analysts. Excited for all the great things we’ll do together alongside our very talented Data Engineering team and business partners. Nicole Holczman reacted on thisWell... the five-month "summer break" has officially come to an end. What started as an unexpected chapter turned into one I'm incredibly grateful for. I got to spend more time with my family than I ever expected, catch up with friends, work on way too many side projects, build some things that had been sitting in my head for years, and just... breathe for a while. Would I have chosen the circumstances? No. Am I thankful for what came out of it? Absolutely. This week I started as IT Manager at FlightSafety International, and I'm genuinely excited for what's ahead. I get to help build a delivery organization, grow an incredible team, solve hard organizational problems, and work alongside some former colleagues that I already know are ridiculously talented. Reuniting with people you've enjoyed working with before is a pretty awesome way to start a new role. I'm definitely going to miss the extra time with my family and going to the pool on a random Monday, or starting a project and slowly working on it for a few days. Those memories are worth more than I realized at the time. But... it's time. Time to build. Time to lead. Time to learn. Time to help create something great. Looking forward to what this team accomplishes together.

And it taught me something I’ll never forget: If you don’t defend your people, you don’t deserve to lead. True leaders know: your team's success is your success. Their growth and achievements are your legacy. Their trust is what makes you a leader, not your title. So what does it mean to defend your team? It’s not about lowering the bar or making excuses for them. Instead it’s about: ✅ Fighting for their growth ✅ Protecting them from burnout ✅ Shielding them from toxic politics ✅ Offering support without micromanaging ✅ Being their voice when they're not in the room The best leader I ever had modeled this. When things went wrong, she’d say: “That’s on me. We’ll fix it.” And when we crushed it? “My team did all the work. I just cleared the path.” She gave tough feedback and held us to high standards. But she never made us feel small. That made all the difference. We gave everything for that team. Grew faster than ever. Hit milestones we never thought possible. Because we knew she had our back. Anyone can manage tasks. Real leaders develop people. And you can’t develop what you don’t defend. So choose wisely. Your team is watching. And they won’t forget. P.S.
