Less than 1% of what happens in a customer conversation makes it into your CRM. The other 99% is in Gong, captured, transcribed, indexed, and invisible to your CSM the moment the deal closes leaving the CSM with no full visibility of the sales context discussions which are critical to the customer's success. Most handoffs look like this, a Slack message, a contract link, the CSM trying to piece together snippets of info handed to them by the AE. The result, CSM asking goals the customer already explained four times and losing trust immediately. To solve this, I built a 3-minute workflow using Claude CoWork: ✅ HubSpot via MCP, pulls ARR, contract terms, contact roles, renewal dates ✅ Gong via MCP, reads every call, surfaces promises, flags objections, extracts success criteria ✅ Everything synthesized into a complete CSM kickoff brief What lands in the brief: ⭐ Stakeholder map and decision roles ⭐ What was promised and by when ⭐ Success in the customer's own words ⭐ Risk signals from discovery ⭐ 30-day success plan CSM arrives with 95% context completeness. "High demo volume and low close rate usually gets blamed on sales. In most early-stage SaaS cases we review, it’s upstream. When the homepage is broad and the ICP isn’t explicit, the wrong prospects book. They’re curious, exploring and not urgent. Sales ends up educating instead of qualifying. The calendar looks healthy, but the pipeline doesn’t. Once positioning gets specific - who this is for, what problem is being solved, what happens if it isn’t - demo volume sometimes drops. But close rates improve. More demos don’t fix mismatch. Clear positioning reduces it."

Most companies think pipeline is the goal. The real goal is progression. Many BDR/SDR teams are run with a single focus on pipeline. Your SDR team can't scale outbound because personalization breaks at volume. Writing custom emails for 200 prospects weekly is humanly impossible. So reps make a choice: send generic blasts that get 2% response rates, or cherry-pick 30 high-value accounts and leave pipeline on the table. Both options lose. The first trains prospects to ignore you. The second caps your growth at however many personalized touches one human can produce daily. The constraint isn't effort. It's that real personalization requires research, context synthesis, and message adaptation for every single prospect.
