From Teacher Dreams to COO Responsibilities: A Journey I Never Planned
When I started my career journey at Searchonic, I had one simple goal-to build something meaningful for myself, become independent, and keep learning.
What I didn't know was that I would eventually find myself leading operations as a COO.
The truth is, my career path has been anything but conventional.
As a child, I dreamed of becoming a teacher. I spent years teaching students as a private tutor while continuing my own education. Later, I completed my B. Pharmacy and worked alongside my father in his business.
Then life took an unexpected turn.
After marriage, I stepped into an entirely new field-Human Resources.
I had no prior experience in HR, and honestly, I was nervous. Everything was new. But instead of letting uncertainty stop me, I focused on learning, adapting, and taking on every challenge that came my way.
Over time, those challenges became opportunities.
Every new responsibility taught me something beyond my job description. I learned how people, processes, culture, and business outcomes are deeply connected. I started looking beyond individual tasks and understanding how organizations grow.
That mindset eventually opened the door to my transition from HR to COO.
Looking back, a few lessons stand out:
✔️ Growth begins when you're willing to step into unfamiliar territory.
✔️ Leadership is earned through accountability, not titles.
✔️ Confidence is built by taking action, not by waiting to feel ready.
✔️ The more you understand the business as a whole, the more value you can create.
✔️ Saying "yes" to challenges often leads to opportunities you never imagined.
I'm still learning every day, and I don't claim to have all the answers.
But if there's one thing my journey has taught me, it's this:
You don't need a perfect plan to build a meaningful career. You just need the courage to keep moving forward and the willingness to learn along the way.
This is my first post sharing my journey, and I'm excited to share more lessons from leadership, operations, people management, and business growth in the days ahead.
