One viral TikTok later, every brand wants in. A TikToker's series redesigning company logos to match how her Mexican mom pronounces them took off after she transformed Sprite into "Esprigh," racking up ~30 million views. Instead of ignoring the trend, Sprite leaned all the way in, changing its TikTok profile picture, posting its own "Esprigh" content, and even joking about "esprighitos." The internet applauded Sprite for playing along, and soon other brands (including Popeyes, DoorDash, and Garnier) were flooding the creator's comments asking for their own makeover. But as more companies rush to cash in on free viral exposure, marketers also face a balancing act. Do they join the conversation naturally, or risk looking like a brand that's trying a bittoo hard? 📸: TT/emilyrosedesign

There’s an uncomfortable tension brewing between marketers using AI and consumers who are, in the nicest sense, over it. According to a report released last month, a whopping 73% of respondents said they’d be “less likely to trust an ad” they suspected was made using AI. (Suspected, not even confirmed!) 😬
