The Massachusetts Export Center's Kathleen Kinahan-Newell and Jason Hoagland attended the SBA Manufacturing Community Symposium in Billerica yesterday and had the opportunity to connect with manufacturers and organizations supporting businesses throughout Massachusetts. The optimism throughout the event was contagious, as attendees discussed the resilience, confidence, and opportunities shaping the manufacturing sector. Highlights included a fireside chat with Peter A. Steele, SBA New England Regional Administrator, and Geoffrey Grove, SBA National Advocate for Manufacturing, Energy & Technology, who discussed the regulatory and compliance challenges facing manufacturers today. Another standout session was a Success Story Panel featuring local manufacturing leaders who shared how they leveraged public resources to grow their businesses. The panelists openly discussed both their successes and setbacks, offering valuable lessons on the importance of persistence, understanding customers' needs, hiring exceptional talent, and taking advantage of the many resources available to manufacturers across Massachusetts. Great morning representing Citizens alongside Kristi Jensen, Annabelle Kilduff, and Karyn Ouellette at the SBA Manufacturing Community Symposium in Billerica. The event brought together manufacturers, entrepreneurs, lenders, and economic development leaders to discuss the opportunities and challenges facing Massachusetts manufacturing. The panel shared valuable insights on growth, innovation, workforce development, and the importance of strong partnerships across the public and private sectors. The symposium was hosted in collaboration with the U.S. Small Business Administration, the Town of Billerica, and the Middlesex 3 Coalition to connect manufacturers with resources that support business growth. Sue Murray, Cheryl M., and Ashley Ricard were proud to represent South Eastern Economic Development (SEED) Corp. at today's SBA Massachusetts District Office Manufacturing Community Symposium. It was fantastic connecting with so many incredible manufacturing entrepreneurs, hearing your stories, and learning about the exciting work happening across the region.
