  • Uphold Institutional has partnered with the XDC Network (XinFin) and Kiln to become the first U.S. digital asset trading venue to offer on-chain XDC staking to its community. Uphold customers can now stake XDC on-chain and earn up to 5%* in annual rewards. $XDC has been live on Uphold since April 2022, making it one of the largest and most trusted homes for the XDC community. Uphold operates a multi-node validator framework in partnership with Kiln designed to optimize rewards for customers while meeting the operational standards a licensed venue requires. • For $HYPE holders, access and self-custody used to pull against each other: moving size meant routing through a venue, holding on-chain meant giving up easy access to one. This integration closes that gap. $HYPE has been available to trade on Uphold Ascent. The change is at the chain level: clients can now deposit $HYPE directly from the Hyperliquid network and withdraw to any compatible wallet, exchange, or custodian. Hyperliquid describes itself as a decentralized Layer-1 blockchain built specifically for perpetual futures and spot trading, targeting institutional-grade throughput without the custody constraints of centralized venues. For institutional clients: this integration adds direct on-chain settlement flexibility for $HYPE positions, whether moving in from an external wallet or withdrawing for self-custody. The next generation of customers grew up with everything instant 24/7 and borderless.. Finance hasn't kept up, but that gap won't last. Uphold operates on two fronts. 🟩 Our consumer app brings instant, round-the-clock trading across asset classes into a single instant experience. 🟩 And through our API, we give banks, brokers, and fintechs the tools to offer that same experience to their own customers. One platform, two ways in.

Uphold is 12 years old today. 🎉 Thank you to all our customers and employees who've loyally stood by us and brought us to where we are today. We have one of the highest Trustpilot ratings in crypto based on 26k reviews, along with an outstanding Glassdoor score; customer and employee advocacy aligning like this is exceptionally rare. Uphold was born in Portugal as a simple idea: that all forms of money and most financial assets are digital information on electronic ledgers and should therefore be as borderless, accessible, instant, fungible, and programmable as a text message. Today the execution of that idea has attracted millions of customers around the world and produced hundreds of millions of dollars in annual net revenue. On our birthday, it's a pleasure to be back in Portugal, where it all began and which remains home to ~60% of our team. I'm pictured with founding Fellow Engineers Rui Marinho and Tiago Ribeiro, part of the original team - including the amazing Rui Silva - who brought the project to life. Congratulations, gents, on taking an idea and seeing it through to international scale. What an amazing achievement!

  • Uphold has deepened its integration with Canton Network, expanding $CC support for Institutional clients through Uphold Ascent. This network integration enables Institutional clients to deposit, withdraw and trade $CC at volume via API, by voice, or directly through the Ascent interface. Retail clients will also be able to deposit and withdraw via the Uphold wallet. Canton Network is a public, privacy-enabled Layer 1 built for institutional financial markets. It combines deterministic finality with configurable privacy, supporting tokenized real-world assets and on-chain TradFi settlement. The Canton ecosystem includes The Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation (DTCC), J.P. Morgan, Euroclear, BNY, Goldman Sachs, DRW, Broadridge and Societe Generale, among others. Our Research Team has prepared a Market Intelligence Report covering Canton Network’s architecture, tokenomics, competitive positioning, and what this integration could mean for Uphold and its institutional clients.  Given the profile of this project, we're making the report publicly available. We talk about stablecoins as a technology story. Look closer, and a human story emerges. Stablecoins moved $33 trillion in gross on-chain volume in 2025. Trading and DeFi continue to drive a substantial share of that activity. The remaining slice is cross-border payments, remittances, inflation hedging, merchant settlement, B2B treasury flows... Trading gets the headlines but that "smaller" slice represents millions of people sending money home faster and cheaper. In LATAM, 71% of stablecoin activity now ties to cross-border payments, the highest share globally, compared with 39% in North America. 🌎 Argentina alone routes nearly 62% of crypto transaction volume through stablecoins, well above the 45% global average. 🌍 Sub-Saharan Africa leans on stablecoins because traditional rails still charge over 8% in fees, the most expensive corridor on earth. For a Lagos freelancer, that means same-day payment. For a São Paulo importer trading with Shenzhen, direct settlement without correspondent banks. Fiat 🔁 Stablecoin 🔁 Fiat The yield debate between banks and crypto firms will shape this market for the next decade.

Today's vote on the Clarity Act in the United States promises to finally deliver a significant step toward a clear and lasting regulatory framework for digital assets and blockchain technology in the U.S. Across the Atlantic, the UK took a parallel step by formally recognizing digital assets as a regulated asset class, effective next year. Today, I am attending both a Buckingham Palace event for the King's Trust 50th anniversary and a reception at the House of Lords, where senior policymakers continue to embrace digital assets and blockchain technology. For our industry, this shows just how far things have progressed over the last few years. Onwards!

Every dollar that enters through an ETF validates the asset class we've built our business around. Just a while ago, U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs attracted nearly $1B in two trading days, pushing cumulative inflows to $59.7B and AUM to $109B. Most advisors, RIAs, and wirehouse platforms hold less than 0.5% in crypto. That ceiling defines the next decade of demand, and most of those investors will eventually want more than a ticker symbol. ETFs handle the first on-ramp. Exchanges handle everything that comes after. Clients who start with IBIT (or other ETFs) graduate to wanting real Bitcoin, real yield, and real access to the on-chain economy. They want self-custody when it matters, staking when it makes sense, and execution that doesn't route through three intermediaries. Our job: meet them when they outgrow the wrapper. The institutional flywheel turns in our favor. We plan to keep building so clients have somewhere serious to go next.
