Amazon A10 Ranking Optimization Strategies

Explore top LinkedIn content from expert professionals.

Summary

Amazon A10 Ranking Optimization Strategies focus on improving how products appear in Amazon search results by aligning with the A10 algorithm, which considers listing relevance, sales performance, customer feedback, and other signals. These strategies help increase organic visibility and drive more sales without relying solely on ads.

  • Refine keyword placement: Use a mix of primary and long-tail keywords naturally in your titles, bullet points, descriptions, and back-end fields to boost your chances of being found in relevant searches.
  • Improve customer experience: Keep your product listings up to date by responding to reviews, using clear images, and making sure your content is easy to read on both desktop and mobile devices.
  • Track and adjust regularly: Monitor your rankings, conversion rates, and feedback, then make small changes like updating images, adjusting prices, or testing new keywords to stay ahead in Amazon’s competitive marketplace.

Amazon is a ‘search’ platform. 50-70% of shoppers across categories are searchers, not browsers. Unlike ‘browse’ heavy platforms like Nykaa, Myntra, Cred and others, journeys start and end with a search or two. Being visible on searches is the game. The problem is that all top listings are advertisements you need to bid for. This performance marketing is addictive because one, it gives quick returns and two, reducing spends has direct impact on revenue. But it is expensive if not done efficiently or if done in vanity. Thousands of brands have tried to gain traction through AMS only and ended up in the burial ground. It’s a death spiral. The only way one can survive selling on Amazon is if a significant portion of sales comes organically. And for that one needs to rank higher organically. Amazon uses the A10 algorithm to rank products according to relevance to search. It’s an almost black box but some factors it seems to assign weights to are: 1. Search relevance: it checks keywords in the front-end, back-end, descriptions and rest of listing including richness of A+ content. 2. Consistency of sales velocity: OOS affects it badly. Fluctuations affect it badly. Grow steady and fast, preferably steady. 3. External signals: ratings, reviews and external traffic’s weight has been increased in A10 compared to A9. Not much else matters if your ratings are poor. Ratings affect the factors that follow next. A double whammy! 4. Click through rates: What % of people who saw your listing clicked on it. A function of first listing card and delivery time among others. 5. Conversion rates: What % of people who saw your listing went on to buy. 6. Seller Authority: your karma matters. Keep on doing the right things and the system rewards. Fall in the trap of a quick buck and you back a couple of steps.

I've created the ultimate Amazon title optimization guide for 2025. 📒 Titles are huge for amazon CTR and sales. A change can make or break a product.... but how long should they be? How keyword heavy? What is important in what niches? How to measure? 💡 I wrote and researched the ultimate guide for my agency and now.... I'm giving it away for free. This guide covers everything that changed with Amazon's January 2025 policy updates and how the A10/COSMO algorithm actually works now. What you'll find inside: → The new 200-character rules (125 for apparel) and what happens if you violate them → Mobile optimization strategies - why your first 80 characters make or break your CTR → Category-specific breakdowns: Electronics, Apparel, Home Goods, Consumables, Books → When to lead with your brand name vs. leading with keywords → Keyword-stuffing is dead - here's what works instead → Real A/B test examples showing 7-10% CTR improvements → How to optimize titles at different product lifecycle stages → What's coming next - AI personalization and semantic search dominance Every section has DO/DON'T examples you can apply immediately. Whether you're launching new products, fixing underperforming listings, or managing a catalog of 100+ ASINs - this covers it. 👽 Want it? Like the post and 👌 Comment "TITLE" and I'll send it over. #amazon #amazontitles

This is one of the biggest mistakes I see Amazon Brands make: Not prioritizing the real prize – high organic ranking on your top keywords. At GNO Partners, we work with over 40 Amazon businesses to grow their brands. One of the main benefits of working with us is that we focus the seller's attention on actions that move the needle. When we started working with many of our current clients, we quickly saw that they were paying little to no attention to growing their organic ranking on Amazon. If this is you, keep reading. You see, The biggest brands on Amazon that make the most profits, all have two things in common: • They are organically at the top of the page with their important keywords. • They are always trying to rank higher and find new keywords to rank on. Higher Organic ranking = more organic sales = more profits at the end of the month. When done correctly, you can grow your organic ranking across many keywords, and explode your revenue and profits. In the attached picture, you’ll see the results of one of our clients. He has a mid-7 figures brand but never really focused on growing organic ranking before he joined us. When I asked him why he never put time and effort into growing his ranking, he said he didn't know all the newest and updated tactics… There will always be new tactics for growing organic ranking, but even if you don't know them, sticking to the basics will always work. If this is you, focus on the most foundational method: • Find your top five competitors • Use Data Dive Tools or Helium 10 Cerbro to see the KWs that they're ranked in the top 10 • Search those Keywords on Amazon and analyze the top 6 organic spots • Prioritize the keywords you see that your offer* will stand out the most. • (*Offer = price/main image/rating/reviews compare to your competitors) • Target those Keywords on PPC aggressively. • Add the KWs all over your main image, title, bullets, pictures, & EBC. • Monitor your organic ranking and optimize as you go. This is the good old way that has been working in 2018, in 2024, and will work in 2028. There are many more tactics you can use, but I can guarantee that starting to focus more on your organic ranking with this tactic will grow your brand on Amazon. The truth is that if you’re not focusing on growing your organic ranking at all… you’re not playing the game correctly. I hope it helps, P.S. ♻️ Repost if you found this helpful. If you like this content, follow me, Ouriel. I'll do my best to make your brand stronger on Amazon.

Hack of the Day Hack of the day for Amazon sellers: Stop optimizing your listing for keywords. Start optimizing it for ranking movement. Here’s the simple shift most sellers miss: They stuff the top 3 keywords everywhere. Title, bullets, backend, A+. Looks “optimized.” Ranks don’t move. What actually works: Pick one long-tail keyword with: • Clear buyer intent • Low to medium competition • Existing impressions but low clicks Then: • Build a clean sub-section in your bullets around that single term • Match phrasing exactly (no creative rewriting) • Support it with 1–2 secondary variations only Why this works: Amazon tests listings in smaller keyword pockets first. If conversion improves there, the algorithm expands exposure upward. This is how listings quietly climb without aggressive ads. Organic ranking is not about shouting louder. It’s about giving the algorithm a clear signal it can trust.

If you aren't using the Amazon’s Search Query Performance report to drive your Amazon Ads, you are essentially gambling with your advertising To move from "buying sales" to "buying organic rank," you need to follow a surgical approach like the following with your data: 1-Identify the Conversion Gap: Find the queries where your brand has a high click-through rate but a low conversion share. This is where your creative or offer is failing your traffic, and you need to diagnose and improve the weakness 2-Isolate High-Intent Queries: Filter for terms where your brand’s conversion rate is 1.5x the category average. These are your "Rank Drivers." 3. Aggressive Capital Allocation: Shift spend away from "discovery" terms and funnel it into your Rank Drivers. The logic is simple: Amazon’s algorithm is a feedback loop of customer satisfaction. High conversion is the ultimate signal. If you force-feed the algorithm high-converting traffic through PPC, the flywheel dictates that your organic rank must rise. Stop chasing "ACOS efficiency" or ROAS in a vacuum. Start chasing "Organic Dominance" through surgical data application. Are you auditing your Brand Analytics weekly, or are you still letting an algorithm spend your money for you? PS We use our proprietary analytics platform iDerive to automate all of Amazon’s brand analytics data and overlay it with ad spend, sales, and more at the keyword level However, you don’t have to automate the data to leverage it; automation just makes it much faster and more actionable
