Hackathons used to be toy demos. Now they’re shipping-grade products. Judged TreeHacks at Stanford University this weekend. Students built market-ready software in <36 hours. Three of my favorites: 1/ LeetCode for prompting. A structured environment for engineers to practice prompting, iterate on outputs, and evaluate correctness. It turns working with AI into a skill you can systematically improve. The same way LeetCode did for algorithms. The business model is smart too - you could make this free for coders and interviewers and essentially sell the data to labs. 2/ Eye-blink interface for accessibility. You could browse the web and even play games like Flappy Bird using only eye movements. Useful for ASL patients. 3/ Agents that talk to each other via a shared platform. Similar to your EAs coordinating directly with one another. A year ago, these would’ve been “ambitious prototypes.” Today: hackathon builds could be startups tomorrow.
