Unternehmen und Behörden nutzen sie, um Innovationen schneller umzusetzen, Prozesse zu modernisieren und neue digitale Services bereitzustellen. Gleichzeitig zeigt der Report: 90 Prozent der Unternehmen erwarten, dass der Staat verstärkt auf europäische bzw. souveräne Cloud-Lösungen setzt. Doch wie kann so eine Cloud aussehen? Das weiß Andreas Simon Rueckriegel, CEO von SysEleven GmbH: „Ohne Cloud kein digitaler Fortschritt. Sie ist die Grundlage moderner IT. Doch Unternehmen und Behörden dürfen bei einer so zentralen Technologie nicht in Abhängigkeiten geraten. Sie müssen jederzeit nachvollziehen können, wie ihre Daten verarbeitet werden und wie die Betriebsprozesse ablaufen. Gleichzeitig müssen regulatorische Anforderungen erfüllt werden. Meine Flugangst macht mich im Inland zum #nachhaltigsten Kollegen – und zum Stammgast im Bordbistro. Zwischen Berlin und Stuttgart kam mir wieder dieser Gedanke, den viele Unternehmen gern verdrängen: Ihr Unternehmenswissen. Nicht die Daten. Nicht die Tools. Sondern die Kronjuwelen – die Erfahrung, die über Jahre gewachsen ist. Bestes Beispiel: Deutsche Bahn. Dort steckt jahrzehntelanges Wissen in Infrastruktur, Leitstellen, Instandhaltung, IT und Integration. Wenn dort ein Experte geht, gehen oft 20 Jahre Erfahrung mit. Und genau das darf nicht passieren. Mit KI und Integration können Unternehmen ihre Kronjuwelen sicher, zugänglich und datenschutzkonform bewahren – auch wenn Menschen kommen und gehen. Nicht als Datenspeicher, sondern als intelligente Unterstützung, die Wissen auffindbar und nutzbar macht. From Jeopardy! to #watsonx: How IBM transformed decades of AI experience into the ultimate Enterprise platform. When we talk about #AI today, names like OpenAI or Google dominate the conversation. But long before the current hype, one company was already setting milestones that redefined human-machine interaction: IBM. From Deep Blue defeating Garry Kasparov in 1997 to Watson’s legendary Jeopardy! victory in 2011, IBM pushed the boundaries of what we thought was possible. However, the journey wasn't without its hurdles. The ambitious "Watson Health" projects showed that the real world—especially in medicine—is far more complex than a quiz show. The Lesson? IBM took those "costly lessons" and pivoted. Instead of building a monolithic, "all-knowing" super-AI, they developed a modular, open, and enterprise-grade platform: watsonx. In my latest blog post, I trace this evolution and look at why IBM’s current B2B strategy is so effective: Openness: No vendor lock-in. Flexibility across any cloud with open-source integration (Hugging Face). Trust & Governance: Moving away from the "black box" toward transparent, explainable AI workflows.
